Student who first came to roosevelt house in 1924 and then all of the roosevelts, and obviously the generation before polly, would you say that she, in a way laid the groundwork of a friendship between an africanamerican women and oh white, elite families such as the roosevelts so that when polly came along eleanor was out already well along that path and because she loved young people, she was the tories so to speak for young people and certainly encouraging the Higher Education of women that the friendship really pave the way for polly and eleanors relationship . I would definitely think so, because eleanor did stay at marys home. And polly who circumstances were always precarious, during eleanors lifetime she never owned a home. So there is never an invitation for eleanor to go visit pollys home, polly always went to eleanors place. There is never that invitation. I have no doubt that eleanor would have gone had polly invited ....
