COVID has created a different dynamic in this country I call it low tide in America,  
Governor Cuomo said.  If you go to the amazing Shirley Chisholm Park and look at the bay during high tide, it looks beautiful, but if you go at low tide, you can see all the ugliness on the bottom. That s what we ve seen over this past year during America s low tide - the racism, the discrimination, the inequality - and COVID has only exacerbated that problem. The undeniable fact is that COVID has killed the Black and Latino communities at a higher rate than the white community. There is no getting around that and its why New York has made ensuring fairness and equity in the vaccine distribution such a priority. I understand there is a level of skepticism about the vaccine given how it was managed by the previous administration, but that s why New York did its own review. It s safe, it s effective, and it s the weapon that will win the war, but we will only be successful if ever ....

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and NewYork-Presbyterian today announced the launch of a new COVID-19 vaccination site for New Yorkers at the Fort Washington Armory in Washington Heights. The site, located at 216 Fort Washington Avenue at the corner of 169th Street, was made possible through the additional partnership of Weill Cornell Medicine and Columbia University Irving Medical Center and is offering COVID-19 vaccinations to individuals over the age of 65 with scheduled appointments only beginning January 14.  ....

More front-line workers in New York state will be included in the first phase of COVID-19 vaccinations in the state, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced on Monday.
In a press briefing on Monday from Albany, the Democratic governor said federally-qualified health center workers, EMTs, coroners, medical examiners, funeral home workers and other congregate care workers and residents would be among those also receiving the vaccine this week.
Asked if this would include pharmacy workers from CVS and Walgreens tasked by a federal program to vaccinate those in congregate facilities Cuomo and state Division of Budget director Robert Mujica indicated that they would, in fact, be among those receiving the vaccine. ....
