RWDSU President Stuart Appelbaum said,  Essential workers have put their lives at risk to serve us in supermarkets, grocery stores and bodegas for the duration of the pandemic, and we owe them the support they need to get vaccinated for COVID-19. I am glad to see Governor Cuomo take action to help these workers by providing walk-in appointments for them throughout New York City. A robust vaccination program is critical to our success defeating this pandemic as a state, and this new effort moves us a step in the right direction to vaccinate this vital population.    ....

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced 12 community-based pop-up vaccination sites coming online this week at community centers, public housing complexes and cultural centers. These sites are expected to vaccinate more than 3,700 people throughout the week, with more sites coming online every week.
