That i know so many of you demand and deserve. Reporter we are making progress, but we are neither there yet. That is the message from governor gavin newsom. Good evening, everyone. The governor says the curve has been flattened and hospitalizations and icu numbers have leveled off. Widespread testing have to be available before the state can reopen. Governor newsom has set a goal of 60,000 tests each day, up from the 16,000 that are available right now. He also said President Trump told him the 100,000 testing swabs are on the way, with 250,000 coming to california the following week. The governor said ramped up testing will supporting strong Contact Tracing program to identify people who have been exposed to the virus. The governor did announce one modification to the current shelter in place, hes allowing hospitals to resume surgeries and other procedures that were delayed.
