As they lead the way in breaking the stigma surrounding Mental Health it was i feel lost. I feel disconnected. Mostly i was kind of like, i feel alone reporter when covid19 first forced schools to shut down, 17yearold diana flores felt like a lot of confused teens isolated from her teachers and friends, her circle of support shrunk it was definitely an adjustment not just for those big conversations but for the little conversations as well reporter daily doses of Human Connection vanished from students lives. Many say their Mental Health deep river, lord, i want to suffered along with it the school noticed it was a crossover growing issue before the pandemic hit we realized the Mental Health and how its been attacking our teens. So we really rallied around and decided to tackle it together as a School Reporter two years ago, the school formed falcons of strength about 50 members strong, the students are trained to address Mental Health issues and support their peers providing resources and friendship to those struggling a group now more important than ever they know your faces and they can come to you in confidence. Is that how it works people that might not have someone directly at home might know that we could connect them to someone they might be able to talk to or just kind of be a friend to them reporter you know, im a parent and i would hope that my kids know that they can come and they can talk to me. But i was a kid. I know how it is why do you think its important to have a program like this where students can talk to each other . I feel like a lot of students, they would be a lot more comfortable opening up to students a lot of kids will find it kind of scary almost to talk to pandemic, winters m adults reporter during the pandemic, winters mill was forced to switch to Remote Learning, all athletics and prom was canceled students struggled with the new norm diana and the falcons of strength asked the faculty and student body to Share Positive messages hundreds rose to the challenge a lot of messages that came out, we wanted things in different languages as well. The woman tased by a resource officer at a middle School Football stadium after Officials Say she was asked to leave for not wearing a mask she was later led away in cuffs and arrested for criminal trespassing. The Video Shows School Resource officer chris smith talking to family members in the stands during a seventh and eighth grade Football Game. Police say alicia kit there to watch her son play had been repeatedly warned by the officer that refusing to wear a mask would result in her arrest but she refused to comply. Dont touch me. Reporter Police Say Smith also told kit that he would deploy his taser if she continued to resist arrest adding in a statement that he advised the female several times that she needed to put her mask on and that if she did not, she would be asked to leave and would have to wait outside the stadium. And that School Officials had already advised her that if she refused to leave, she would be cited for trespassing and escorted off the property. The schools superintendent says the mask wearing policy applies to everyone. We require you to wear a mask you have to.
