trading that s normally done on the new york stock exchange has been handled by the nasdaq so stock trades are going through, but like an airline stoppage because of computer issues things are pretty backed up on wall street. there s also a lot of uncertainly because of this kind of stoppage. when it comes to the world s largest and most trusted financial machine, uncertainly is bad news. let dow jones industrial average, which we track by the second down by 1% about 182 points lower, so a very rough morning as the exchange works to get things back to normal. the trillion dollar question is how does the entire stokes get hit with a computer glitch? it s not the first time. in october of last year the nyse haus wit by a glitch for about ten minutes. we re seeing some movement but no trading. there s a computer glitch at unite dd airlines. all flights were grounded. checking sfo, most united flights are on time though a smartering rub canceled including a flight to chicago.
