Happening right now injured on the front line, a wildfire battle in Nevada County sent four firefighters to the hospital. The lowell fire is threatening 2,000 homes north of interstate 80. This morning there are mandatory evacuations in place. Weve learned of the four firefighters injured, three are expected to be treated and released in the next several hours. We do have four firefighters that suffered some burn injuries that were transported to uc davis. Right now the exact incident still under investigation to determine what exactly happened, why the firefighters were on the line. This morning 800 firefighters are on the front lines with more on the way. That fire is 15 contained as we mentioned and firefighters are cautiously optimistic hoping that the winds stay in their favor today. As firefighters continue to battle those flames, hot conditions are heightening fire danger here in the bay area. Want to check in with meteorologist kari hall with what we can expect this week in terms of temperatures. And it will be hot out there and the wind shift will make it harder for crews to try to get those wildfires under control. Now we have a wind coming this this from the southeast at 6 miles an hour, but then as we go into the day the winds will turn more of a northwesterly wind at 15 to 20 miles an hour. So when we see the winds shift like that it could turn the fire back on itself and start to affect other areas that have not been affected by those wildfires. Hot weather also ahead. So as the crews get out there and are battling those hot flames, the temperatures will be going up, too, as we go through the week. The highs will be topping out in the 90s even close to 100 degrees am some of those areas. Firefighters this to use the jaws of life to get the man out of the car, but he still died at the seen. Investigators believe a gunshot wound and not the crash likely killed him. A suspected car jacker recovering after police shot him near San Francisco international airport. Investigators say about 7 00 sunday morning they found a stolen car crashed into a pole near san bruno avenue. When officers found the suspect they say he took off, then tried to car jack other cars. Police say the suspect eventually turned on an officer. Witnesses say the suspect told police to shoot him.
