Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren went "missing" for nearly 48 hours this week ahead of being questioned by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with an alleged money laundering case.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who was "untraceable" for more than 30 hours, arrived in Ranchi amid reports of his imminent arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in an alleged land fraud case. He met MLAs of the ruling alliance of JMM, Congress, and RJD and also met his cabinet ministers at his residence. His wife Kalpana Soren, who is speculated to take over the Chief Minister's post, was also present in the meetings.
The police have prohibited gatherings outside Hemant Soren’s residence till 10 pm today, and around 7,000 police personnel have been deployed.
