As a reward for students reaching their goal of raising $1,000, staff at DeLand-Weldon High School agreed to have beans dumped on them at an end-of-the-day assembly.
From Monday, Nov. 6 to Thursday Nov. 9, the student body was invited to participate in four themed days for Culture Week: Jersey Day, Flag Country Day, Throwback Day and Traditional Attire. The goal is to encourage students to celebrate their cultures and heritage, not just Latinos, but everyone.
