Queensland woman sustains chest injuries in kangaroo incident A Queensland woman has sustained chest injuries after becoming involved in an altercation with a kangaroo. Queensland Ambulance were called to Teemburra Dam, approximately 50km west of Mackay, after 7pm yesterday following reports of a kangaroo attack. Paramedics treated a woman in her 30s for a chest injury and lacerations to her limbs. READ MORE: She was taken to Mackay Hospital in a stable condition. According to Queensland s Department of Environment and Science, dangerous kangaroo interactions with humans are rare. If you are approached by an aggressive kangaroo or wallaby you should keep it at a safe distance so that it can t kick or scratch, the Department recommends. ....

He suffered cuts to his face, a broken left femur and possible spinal injuries. Queensland Ambulance crews were initially called to the area about 9am Saturday with reports a motorbike rider had suffered head and chest injuries. But the rugged terrain meant ground crews were unable to get to his location where he came off his motorbike after hitting a rut near Teemburra Dam, about 66km west of Mackay. An RACQ CQ Rescue spokeswoman said Queensland Health requested the aeromedical crew and a critical care paramedic winched down to a clearing near the scene. ....
