Photos from the CQ Rescue crews sent to winch an injured motorbike rider from Captain’s Crossing show the dense bushland that confronted paramedics.
Queensland Ambulance crews were initially called to the area about 9am Saturday with reports a motorbike rider had suffered head and chest injuries.
But the rugged terrain meant ground crews were unable to get to his location where he came off his motorbike after hitting a rut near Teemburra Dam, about 66km west of Mackay.
An RACQ CQ Rescue spokeswoman said Queensland Health requested the aeromedical crew and a critical care paramedic winched down to a clearing near the scene.
