Since the fire the west Chester Community has rallied around the displaced seniors and staff a many residents lost everything they had. Yesterday at the Goodwill Fire Company so many donations of clothes walkers toiletries you name it all came in. Within a few hours they had to turn donors away. Today we spoke to some of the families of seniors. How is he holding up. Hes in the hospital, hes got smoke inhalation but his breathing is getting better. Reporter he came in donations for his father in law. He says the worker from barclay friends had a bag already sorted out for him. Have a walker which is almost of exactly like the one he had so that will help him a lot. Reporter he like so many today want to thank this community for all of the help. We have the clothes, his nightclothes he calls them, he crawled out and he had nothing left. Reporter great to see how this community has rallied. We learned today several bay area Fire Departments are sending trucks and fire crews to the wall fire to help on the fire lines. Across california right now this are approximately 5,000 firefighters. Firefighters put out hot spots in rodeo where a brush fire burned near interstate 80. That fire started yesterday. There is no word on the cause of that fire. Lets head over to meteorologist Rosemary Orozco with a look at the hot conditions. Unrelenting heat out there this afternoon. Temperatures are going above 100 degrees for some of the hottest spots. Heat advisories for portions of the valley all the way from areas near redding down past modesto and it does include the area where firefighters are fighting that fire right now. 17 contained. Around the home today. This woman, who asked not to be identified, said that the victim was her head friend. He helped me a lot. Its really messed up that he is dead. Reporter with lead on her pants and visible cuts on her hands, she claims that she was with the victim when he was stabbed. Someone tried to stab me and he got in the way. Unfortunately, he passed away. Reporter police were called to the home at 10 00 a. M. They found a man with one stab wound. He was rushed to the hospital, where he later died. There gathering evidence inside the house. And a parking lot behind the home, coming through what neighbor say was his white ford toss truck. Hes had trouble with some street people around. Reporter they say same as mark, a retired navy veteran. Police have been called to the home several time before. He was awkward on the right path. I tried to tell him.
