Even the heroic efforts of the emergency room doctors couldnt save him. The Fire Department says there were only one available ambulance, it was near golden gate park, its a 4 1 2 minute trip. It took a ambulance 13 minutes to avive arrive. Its a difficult for me to guess about the difference that a few minutes would make. The Fire Department medical director said firefighters arrived in 2 1 2 minutes and determined he needed to get to the hospital.
