immigration reform. watched closely by many here in the bay area. good evening, i m jessica aguirre. i m raj mathai. we have multiple reports including a look at who the plan exclu exclude. peggy bunker with more. reporter: not the huge sweeping change the president hoped his immigration bill would be. without the help of congress the president decided to go it alone using executive order. the changes to his immigration policy are smaller, will spare 5 million undocumented immigrants from threat of deportation. come out of the shadows and get right with the law. that s what this deal is. reporter: untouched for years, america s outdated languishing immigration system pushed to the breaking point this summer as immigrant children swelled southern borders. today our immigration system is broken. everybody knows it. to date president ordered sweeping overhaul of the system. affecting 5 million people. and the fact is we have an immigrant population in the country
