Express News Service While Asian food in general and Chinese food in particular may rank high on Delhi s palate, Singaporean is one cuisine that has not enjoyed much of a presence. Here to take care of that is Mai Bao, from the chefs of fine dine Asian restaurant Kampai. The menu is a medley of Malay, Cantonese, and South East Asian influences, in a modern presentation, and the only way to do justice to it is to meander our way through the many courses. For instance, there are the baos. Not content to have just one varietal, Mai Bao has several, ranging from open faced Chicken, Mushroom, Duck, and Pork Baos to the original stuffed steam dumplings. ....
Chef Tariq Ahmed from Sringar is serving up a literal Kashmiri feast for the senses Share Via Email | A+A A- Chef Tariq is from a family of Wazas, with generation after generation of the Ahmed family having passed down the recipes of Wazwan. Express News Service The Westin Gurgaon was known for our food festivals. Then, 2020 happened and our regulars kept asking when we were going to resume that celebration of food. Express News Service “We started Meatigo in 2016 after I’d come back from working abroad and had just had it with the haphazard quality of meat at local butcheries and complete lack of a product range, having become accustomed to the quality and variety in foreign countries,” says Siddhant Wangdi, a tinge of outrage at India’s lacklustre meat market still detectable in his tone. While the country still has the highest vegetarian population in the world, the sheer numbers of Indians make the domestic animal protein market a veritable beast, with Gurugram-based Meatigo and other players hoping to carve out as much as they possibly can. Meatigo is primed for that hunt. Wangdi, 30, enjoys his non-vegetarian food and it was this passion that led to the project of a premium quality meat brand offering the kind of range that “is offered abroad and let consumers like myself have multiple choices when it came to products.” ....
When Sonakshi Pratap and Malhar Lakdawala, both 30 and based out of Mumbai, tied the knot last weekend in Mahabaleshwar, Maharashtra, they decided to discard the rule book for traditional Hindu weddings and just do their own thing. “We decided to split the wedding into two parts, because of COVID-19. The first day, with just 50 people from both sides of the family, we had a Hindu wedding, but without the archaic rituals that are so patriarchal. Then the next two days we had our friends over and did something very different,” says Sonakshi, who along with Malhar, has always been very passionate about issues like gender equality. To begin with, Sonakshi eschewed the typical practices of mehendi, sindur, and the mangalsutra, all indicative of the subservience of Hindu brides to their husbands. ....
