Hampshire. I love you, too. How many of you know that i went to high school in the state, raise your hand. I went to Philips Exeter academy. I graduated in 1992. I have not been back in a long time because i did not enjoy my time here. The student body erupted in applause. After i graduated from exeter, i went to brown university, not far from here. I became an unhappy corporate attorney and then an entrepreneur. I did well in business. When i saw the country was headed in the wrong direction, i started a nonprofit that helped create thousands of jobs around the country in places like detroit, cleveland, st. Louis, baltimore, new orleans, and birmingham. [applause] thank you. And it was during those seven years that i couldve first hand look at why donald trump is our president today. Its the biggest question democrats need to answer in 2020. If you turn on cable news, you might think he is our president because of some mixture of ....
Thank you, thank you. We have a very Historic Task on our hands. It is as historic as the challenge that has faced any generation before us. It is important to remember that when this country has faced dark times before, generations rose up and they pushed back all undemocratic forces that needed to be pushed back. We responded to slavery in this country with abolition. A lot of that came from New Hampshire. We responded to the oppression of women with the Suffragette Movement and the womens rights movement. We responded to the suppression of race and White Supremacy with the Civil Rights Movement. And none of those cases was the fundamental change initiated or led by the u. S. Government. In every ....
