He was addressing the felicitation programme of health units that received the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification at Capital Convention Centre in Kohima. Phom maintained that to ensure universal health coverage, Ayushman Bharat was launched in 2018 with Health and Wellness Centre (HWC) and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) as its two strong pillars. First academic session will have an intake capacity of 100 students Our Correspondent Kohima, July 15 (EMN): Minister of Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, on Friday said that issues pertaining to manpower and other requirements for Nagaland’s first medical college in Kohima have been “resolved.” The minister had said last month that the building construction work of the much-awaited medical hospital in Kohima (likely to be renamed Nagaland Institute of Medical Science and Research) was 60% complete and 60 posts for the faculty had been created, as the institute is scheduled to commence courses from the next academic session. Nagaland Govt. to provide interest-free loans to micro-farmers, entrepreneurs

Our Reporter Dimapur, June 14 (EMN): Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio informed that the state government will provide loans without interest to micro-farmers and entrepreneurs, by selecting and interviewing interested persons from all the districts. He was speaking during the inauguration programme of the Department of Development for Under-Developed Areas (DUDA) Guest House at Sovima on Tuesday. He said that the government will pay the interest and the beneficiaries will get a loan but the person has to provide a guarantor from the village authority. Rio also stated that the eastern region is now different and one should not have the mentality of reservation and backwardness. It was attended by the Phom community and representatives of the Eastern Nagaland People’s Union Kohima (ENPUK) and Eastern Nagaland Women Organisation Kohima (ENWOK).
