newsroom. i m jim acosta live in washington. just 16 days to go until the midterm elections. we are now getting multiple reports of voter intimidation as millions try to cast their ballots early. take a look at these images from mesa, arizona, where armed individuals wearing masks and tactical gear were stopped near a ballot drop box. maricopa county officials calling them, vigilantes, who are disrupting the voting process. the state also getting reports of so-called ballot watchers, who have set up near drop boxes to film and take pictures of people who show up. joining me now, former democratic senator from minnesota and host of the al franken podcast, al fran nk, and cnn political commentator and former special assistant to president george w. bush, scott jennings. let s get straight to it. al, let me start with you. i want to show those pictures again. they are disturbing. this is what a lot of people anticipated, heading into this midterm election cycle, because o ....

morning. we re probably still another three to four days left in search and rescue and recovery, so that s a rough time frame that could go in either direction. these are not numbers. this is family members, people didn t just lose their homes. we can rebuild a home. we can get another boat, but when you lose a loved one, there s just no words that can describe how we feel for that family. so we hope and pray those numbers stay as low as possible. more than 430,000 people remain without power across florida, and some in places like fort myers beach and sanibel island could be without power for more than a month. crews are already trying to reconnect the hurricane ravaged barrier islands to the mainland, a temporary gravel bridge to pine island could be done by the end of the week. cnn s boris sanchez is there in lee county. boris, we know that it will take months, if not years to put these communities back together. what s the latest on that path that you know now ....
good to be with you. i m katy tur. it s not just the economy, stupid. today, we re starting with the midterms, but not with the accepted narrative. as you know, there are just seven days to go until november 8th and despite what you might see in polling averages, the results are far from clear and it s not just us. it is the pollsters themselves warning they might not be getting the full picture. that the samples might be skewed. democrats say that is underestimating their chances. one prominent strategist questioning the narrative of a red wave pointing to an influx sponsored by republican or allied groups in critical races across the country while others like the economist say the skew is actually underestimating republicans, arguing democrats are polling best in states where they seem to misfire. those are the predictions. what about the hard numbers? early voting has begun in many states but just like the polls, the numbers coming out of those states are frustrating ....
