Another blow for restaurants already struggling during the pandemic. Not just San Francisco. Several bay area counties taking action to slow the spread of the virus. All tightening restrictions starting next week. Nbc bay areas Christy Smith has a look at how restaurants are dealing with this latest setback. Reporter a number of restaurants we spoke with today say theyre working hard to try and make diners feel even more comfortable being outside. Its a stressful time, they say where, and there is so much to consider in rolling back. For restaurants right now its very stressful. Reporter at water bar theyre no longer able to offer any Indoor Dining but there is space to dine outside with a view. As night fell, things turned violent, though. This next video appears to show counter protesters throwing fireworks in the direction of the Trump Supporters. It happened at a restaurant. These are the new cases reported today in the bay area. Santa clara county adding 335 cases. Alameda, San Francisco, sonoma countys all adding more than 100 cases. These new cases are pargts of the growing trend across the country. Tonight the United States has more than 11 million covid19 cases. As we mentioned, many bay area counties are tightening restrictions. Right now indoor operations in San Francisco are scaled back. Starting tuesday, marin, contra costa, santa clara counties, theyre all going to do the same. Some restrictions in Contra Costa County are being tightened even further, especially when it comes to indoor gyms. Complications that are continuing to be assessed, addressed, and shape what is going to happen, the next steps for the boeing starliner spacecraft this was the first test, first flight of starliner, uncruewed, no people on board, failing to make the trip to the International Space station as was planned. The launch itself which happened about 6 36 a. M. This morning went according to expectation. The issue arose when starliner separated from the upper stage of the atlas 5 United Launch Alliance rocket, about 15 minutes later, an issue that can basically be summed up more or less as one tied to automation and it was an anomaly that just a short while ago in a press conference with nasa, boeing and the United Launch Alliance officials was summed up
