United Grinding North America, a Swiss-based United Grinding Group subsidiary, held a signing day July 26 for four individuals who have joined the company’s four-year apprenticeship program. The recently-launched program uses a hybrid approach to ensure that apprentices gain practical experience working with cutting-edge machinery while also receiving a comprehensive academic foundation.

2022 Summer League TigersCLEMSON, S.C. - A total of 10 returning Tigers from the 2022 team played in various summer leagues after the 2022 season.Caden Grice was a Cape Cod League All-Star Game selection who played for Chatham. He hit .213 with four homers, seven doubles, 11 RBIs and 14 runs in 40 games in the field. He was also 0-0 with an 0.00 ERA and 13 strikeouts in 10.2 innings pitched over four appearances (one start) on the mound.Grice's teammate with Chatham, Cooper Ingle, hit .252 with a homer, five doubles, eight RBIs, 18 runs and three steals in 42 games.Nick Hoffmann and Blake Wright both played for Wareham in the Cape Cod League. Hoffmann was 2-0 with a 3.60 ERA and four strikeouts against no walks in 10.0 innings pitched over three appearances (one start). Wright hit .206 with a homer, three doubles, 13 RBIs, 13 runs and a steal in 34 games.Four Tigers played in the Valley League. CLEMSON, S.C. – Freshman James Tibbs hit a pinch-hit solo home run in the seventh inning as Florida State (24-14, 11-9 ACC) beat Clemson (25-14, 5-11) 4-3 Saturday afternoon at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. Tibbs’ seventh home run of the year broke a 3-3 tie.
Conner Whittaker (2-1) pitched 3.1 innings without allowing a base hit for his second win of the year.
All three of Clemson’s runs came on solo home runs. Blake Wright and Max Wagner hit back-to-back home runs off Bryce Hubbart in the first inning and the score remained 2-0 until the fifth inning, when FSU was able to capitalize on a pitching change and take the lead.
Isaiah Perry singled and Tyler Martin walked against Geoffrey Gilbert before Jordan Carrion’s RBI single scored Perry and got FSU on the board. Nick Hoffmann entered and allowed an infield single to Brett Roberts that scored Martin; Carrion scored when Hoffmann couldn’t find the bag at first base while taking the throw from first baseman Bryar Hawkins.
