after a doozy of a monday weather- wise, we ll see a colder and quieter weather pattern with a couple of small snow chances. our winds remain a bit strong this morning which is still causing some patchy blowing snow in some of our easternmost communities along with sub-zero windchills across the board. other than that, today should be hazard-free as winds diminish just a touch but remain steady. we should also see a bit more sun too with highs near 20 degrees. lows tonight will drop into the single digits as clluds inccease late and could bring in a few flurries if not quick snow dusting for some on wednesday. we ll have another slight chance of flurries thursday night as highs continue to cling to the 20- degree mark moving into the weekend before getting their next big bump up to the 30s on sunday. that s also when we ll stand yet another slight chance of a snow shower. those wanting warmer temperatures might have better luck next week as indicated by preliminary mode ....

viewing area yesterday ranging from sunny in the 40s out west to snowy and barely making it to 20 to the east, we ll basically see a reversal of yesterday s weather in terms of the timing of light snow. unlike yesterday, pretty much everyone will spend a fair amount of time under the clouds with occasional peeks of sun this morning before light snow starts to move into our western counties early this afternoon. it ll gradually spread eastward throughout the afternoon and evening and exit the viewing area by midnight leaving many with, much like yesterday, a dusting up to an inch or two ofofhe white stuff. high pressure will then make its way south into the viewing area fridayy which will translate to a day offdeceiving suushine with highs only making it into the teens. after dropping below zero friday night, we ll see another cold day saturday with the possibility of light snow from saturday into sunday as temperatures finally get a decent nudge back into the 30s and 40 ....
friday and saturday before easing back a bit early next week. see graphics. wx timer @ :40 the body of supreme court justice antonin scalia has arrived back home in virginia. justice antonin scalia s body arrived at dulles airport late sunday night. and was loaded onto a hearse. earlier on sunday, a procession of about 20 police officers brought the body to an el paso funeral home from the west texas ranch where scalia was found dead on saturday. officials were awaiting word about whether the medical examiner would perform an autopsy, but it was deemed unnecessary. it is believed the 79-year- old scalia died of natural causes. scalia was appointed by president ronald reagan in 19-86 and has been the senior member of the court for several years. authorities say an apartment fire that forced residents to temporarily evacuate saturday, was caused by a child playing with matches. the fire came from an apartment on the fourth floor of castle on the hill apartments accordin ....
