reporter: jim, this was an incident back in 2016, april of 2016, that occurred in a girls bathroom at a local high school. a student died. the judge ruled today that what happened was not a fight. this was not two students squaring off but a one-sided attack. now, the attorney for the girl that was found delinquent of homicide said it was out of character for her. she a good child. this was the first fight that she s ever gotten into in her life. reporter: john deckers is talking about his now 17-year-old client found delinquent in the death of amy y joyner-francis at howard high school in wilmington last year. joyner-francis had an undiagnosed heart condition. it was ruled she died from stress after being beaten by the 17-year-old who attacked her. deckers says his client comes from a solid home but anybody who knows children understands that sometimes teens are pressured into engaging in activity which is contrary to what mother and father teach every day. ....
