it is a mess inside. take a look, this is why. by the time the first firefighters arrived, flames were shooting up into the sky at least 15 to 20 feet. this is video taken from one of the battalion chief s cell phones. the weather wasn t on their side. it was windy. the smoke was rising horizontally instead of straight up into the air. four people are displaced this morning including a mother and son. we spoke briefly to the son. and he said that he could not fall asleep this morning and for good reason. i was just falling asleep when my mom came in and woke me up. she told me there was a fire. reporter: was she frantic? yeah. yeah. she was distressed. she wasn t sure if it was on our house or the neighbor s yet. she just saw it through her window. she wasn t sure what was going on. reporter: and he and his mother are all right including the other couple next door. his mom was the one who woke up to crackling. the other couple was woken up by some bystanders. th ....
decision in the mirkarimi domestic violence case. a videotape that s crucial to the prosecution s case is the issue. gil diaz reports from san francisco s hall of justice with the latest. reporter: good morning. that videotape is only 45 seconds long. but prosecutors see it as a crucial piece of evidence in the case. the judge is expected to decide whether to let it be admitted. it s a videotape with eliana lopez showing her bruises. now, these are photos from that videotape. the couple s neighbor ivory madison filmed it after eliana confided in her the day after the incident. the alleged abuse occurred on new year s eve and it happened in front of the 2-year-old son. mirkarimi is not expected to show up for court today. on friday, the judge did grant his request to be absent. mirkarimi has pleaded not guilty to several misdemeanor charges including domestic violence, battery and child endangerment. now, the arguments and the pretrial motions are expected to begin at ....
