with saving his family from a burning home. wbtv s sky 3 was the first on the scene in belmont yesterday evening as firefighters worked to put out the massive fire. you can see the house gutted by the flames. wbtv s alex giles talked with the little boy who is a real hero. reporter: this family credits the smallest member of the household with saving everyone s lives. if he hadn t been alert this could have ended much worse. carter englert has a few of his favorite things after the fire ripped his home apart. toys, my ipad. most of them gone, the family also lost two of their cats. but thanks to cart the people who were inside are safe. i was in the bathtub, my mom asleep and he came and told us there was a fire and he got us to get up and get out. while the family relaxing, carter was the only one that a crashing window. reporter: he grabbed family members and led them outside, a narrow escape. 30 seconds the roof started collapsing, i m glad we got out ....
