but thanks to cart the people who were inside are safe. >> i was in the bathtub, my mom asleep and he came and told us there was a fire and he got us to get up and get out. >> while the family relaxing, carter was the only one that >> a crashing window. >> reporter: he grabbed family members and led them outside, a narrow escape. >> 30 seconds the roof started collapsing, i'm glad we got out when we did. >> i was scared because i never seen a fire before. >> firefighters say the six-year-old handled the situation well. >> he's my hero, my baby. >> the red cross is now assisting those after first court appearance. dajour smith shot reakwon lee yesterday. a judge appointed a public defender, in jail on $28 5,000 bond, if he gets out he has to one of two teens accused of shooting at police has been released to his parents. two officers chased after 13 and 14-year-old on milton road near barrington drive, when one of the teens opened fire. no one was hurt. people who live in the area say it is easy for anyone, including kids, to get a gun on the street. >> you make a couple calls, you save up money, you can find you a gun. >> officers haven't released the names of the teens because they are minors. the 14-year-old who police say pulled the trigger was also released to his parents. people living near west mecklenburg high school call an emergency meeting over concerns school, roaming the streets, hanging out in neighbor's yards, tonight they wanted to hear what simmscms plans to do. minds. >> when these kids walk, they are walking all day long, kids fighting. is a challenge, has been and will continue to be a challenge. you have nine building campus, 2100 students, staff is adequate but we could use more staff. >> school officials point out not every student is skipping some are from a new academy that opened nearby for older students. still, cms leaders say they are working on solutions. >> i'm not saying that it is impossible for a youngster to on your side. >> john: a lincoln county employee accused of stealing thousands of gallons of gas is scheduled to be in court today, deputies say joseph gibson used his government-issued fuel card to buy $9,000 gallons of gas. caught on video with a truck in all the gas was worth $18,000. charged with felony embezzlement and fraud. the trial delayed for man accused of ordering the killings of this couple from lake wylie. jamell cureton is a high-ranging member of the bloods bloods gang. the trial is being delayed because the u.s. attorney general has not decided whether or not to seek the death penalty. authorities say a man shot and killed by deputy in anson county may have been the suspects in kidnapping and police chase a few years ago. we brought you this as breaking news on wbtv news this morning. dennis penny, jr., shot during a shoot-out thursday night. he died yesterday afternoon. chesterfield county deputies believe he may have abducted his children in 2012, the sbi is now assisting in the investigation. lgbt activists fighting hard to keep charlotte's new members of the equality nc spoke outside the general assembly in raleigh urging law makers to allow the non-discrimination ordinance to stay on the book. gives people in the lgbt community additional protections from discrimination including which bathroom they use. there are plenty of people who are south, we're going to see all this begin to roll our way, more moisture coming in the carolinas over the next 24-48 hours and a digging trough of low pressure aloft bringing in the cooler temperatures mid 70s, 70 lancaster and 73 for pageland. let's look at latest computer model run, as we head through the day today, a good deal of sunshine mixed in with a few high clouds in the afternoon and evening. but the clouds increased as high pressure builds to the north. we have a mini wedge setting up for saturday afternoon, a few rain showers 10:00 a.m., charlotte, back to our west, lenoir, hickory in the boone blowing rock area. then we get breaks and more showers moving in, overnight and so say from midnight saturday into 5:00 sunday morning, we have a few showers. about a 50/50 shot for saturday afternoon and evening. then on in to sunday. by sunday afternoon, clearing out nicely. seven day forecast looks like this. here come the cooler temperature, 58 on saturday afternoon, 39
