Todays situation. Its the Russian River in guerneville anticipated to overflow its banks between noon and 2 this afternoon and napa river is a major concern as well. We anticipate anywhere from minetor to moderate flooding to moderate minor to moderate flooding. A little light precipitation off the north bay coast but otherwise you have a bit of a break but that wont be the case towards lunchtime when you will see some scattered showers. We have had this line of rain push through the trivalley that 580, 680 corridor lining up against the diablo range pushing out of the district but it is wet into the san jose area. Meanwhile, Scotts Valley into santa cruz is a vigorous cell that moved through the bottom line is you will need the umbrella today. Santa cruz mountains. At one point, it even shut down the highway yesterday for about 5 hours. This is the biggest one definitely, um, theres a quite a bit more earth about half the mountainside came down into the roads. Reporter mudslide crews are stretched thin so contractors are bringing them in to clean up the mess. The northbound lanes remain closed because of this massive mudslide. And im dennis odonnell. They are hoping for later today or even tomorrow morning. We have more heavy rain coming in fact its here right now. We continue to see waves of Atmospheric River move into the bay area. Screen is lit up with pockets of moderate to heavy rainfall especially in the north bay. And i wanted to zero in on this particular area right there because if you look very carefully, look at the heavy rain now occurring in guerneville. This morning at 36. 7 feet at 4. 5 feet above flood stage. The Russian River rose to about that level earlier this week on tuesday. So this is a double whammy. Homes and businesses near the Russian River banks were once again flooded and as soon as the waters receded here we are again. People who live around here though are taking it all in stride. Everybody is doing well in the neighborhood. This is pretty normal. But the storm we had a couple of weeks ago was by far worse. Theres no water in our well, theres a little bit of water in our basement but nothing like a few weeks ago.
