good morning from the studio 57 newsroom at the cbs news headquarters here in new york. i m anne-marie green. today they plan to pass the bill but the senate bill may be in trouble. wisconsin s ron johnson says he opposes the tax bill and he may be just the first. hena doba is here with more. good morning. good morning, anne-marie. senator johnson believes the bill favors corporations over small businesses and became the first republican senator who says he opposes his party s tax bill, while the democrats insist this is a plan to make the wealthy wealthier. the house is expected to pass today the most comprehensive tax bill in decades. we re cutting taxes from low to middle income families. the typical median house of four gets an 1$1,182 tax cut. that s good news for one who thinks they re one tax cut away from disaster. unlike the senate republicans proposal which brings health care in by eliminating the obamacare mandate the house bill doesn t touch that. lik ....
and we are already tracking a very busy start to your thursday morning commute so be prepared. be careful out there. a crash blocking all lanes right now in antioch. this is westbound 4 at a street. quite a bit of debris from that accident in the lanes, as well. and they are hoping to get some of those lanes reopened here any minute so we ll keep you posted. in the meantime, you will need to use an alternate route. if you want to use somersville or kent street, you can get around that area. over at the richmond parkway, we are seeing slowdowns in both directions. eastbound 80 at mcdonald avenue, this crash has been out there for a while. two lanes are closed but speeds are dipping just below the limit there. so not too bad. but please be careful. lots of ponding on the roadways. we ll have more in traffic coming up. back to you guys. people in areas scarred by the wine country wildfires are concerned the storm could cause more problems. among the major concerns, flo ....
for napa. venado got over 3 inches of rain. so the wider view here on our hi-def doppler now showing you san francisco is getting most of the rain, highway 101, a little calmer for the south bay. but as i push in close, san rafael, mill valley, lagunitas, you re seeing a lot. tiburon is next, as well. same with richmond as the system moves east. san bruno, san mateo, look at the strong amounts of rain coming down right off of interstate 280. so it s going to be slick on all roads. the totals will go up throughout the morning. for the next couple of hours at least, things are not going to wind down. later on this afternoon they will wind down. we ll see most of this system move south so santa cruz mountains will get a lot of rain today. we ll continue to track this all morning long. hopefully you will have plenty of time before you leave today. what s happening on the roads? definitely give yourself some extra time as you are heading out the door to work this morning. ....
the past hour or so getting more and more intense. it looks like downtown san francisco, marina district, it s soak outing there. a lot of it moved further east, danville, moraga, orinda, heavy rain, oakland as well saw 1.5 of rain so far overnight into these early-morning hours. so the rain right now is probably the most intense especially across the south. we go to fremont there. you can see about a half inch to three-quarters inch of rain per hour there. just going to stay this way for the next couple of hours until noon. we ll see continued rainfall across the south and then we ll see rain totals increase over the next few hours. then scattered showers this afternoon. a lot of moisture coming in off the water and moving towards the land and that s why we are seeing intense numbers. to the north bay now, it s calmed down a lot for st. helena, santa rosa, you know, not seeing intense rainfall. over 3 inches for venado. santa rosa 1.9 inches. this is totals so far. je ....
palo alto and a look at how the wine country fire zone did in the rain but neda has conditions right now. i want to show you what s going on with our hi-def doppler. you can see intense rain especially across the south bay. it was strong across the north bay now coming off the coast towards the south bay. santa cruz up to 3 inches from this system. los gatos also still seeing this strong cell. sunnyvale, san jose, cupertino, it s not letting up. the windshield wipers in full force, ponding on the roads, as well. moving to the east dublin may see more intensity with livermore stronger rain further east. south san francisco about a half inch of rain per hour, millbrae more than that. about three-quarters inch of rain. it s a little lighter around the bay. it s cleared up north of the bay but sonoma, st. helena, it s raining there. totals are impressive: c live in palo alto. anne, some problems on the roads.
