attorney, my recollection is he did speak, he did talk to the hearing officer at that time. he was given, from what i remember, ample time to explain the situation. the hearing officer did uphold the 30-day suspension of the original notice. basically, after i read the brief, i did, i inquired at other counties what they do regarding these and what i did was i took the most successful rate of reduction in sales to minors, which was out of los angeles county, and asked what they do. they do have that in their ordinance this they can charge these monetary penalties. because of the success rate i was interested in what they did and they strictly do suspension of permits. and our ordinance here in san francisco, the way we read it, it doesn t allow for any kind of monetary penalty. clearly a violation of california penal code this section 308 only allows for us to do a suspension on the permit, which was what we did in this case. how did you arrive at the 30 day determina ....
mr. elman, we just called this appeal. we re ready to have it heard when you are ready to start. commissioners, since this matter is two appeals joined the parties will have 14 minutes to present their case. mr. president and members of the board, i am howard elman representing the appellant, carol seligman and we are, the other appellant has granted us his time so that we could have a little bit more it make a coherent presentation to you, because there are some complex issues. what we re asking for is that you revoke the permit that s been issued and require the permit to correct all the nonconforming uses. our appeal is supported by testimony from fire experts jim mcmullen, mr. moony who is here tonight, the state fire marshal for 7 years. he cannot here to testify as an expert tonight because he is testifying in some expert out of the city. mark moony has equally strong credentials in the packet presented to you. he is here tonight and able to speak on those issue ....
the yellow flowers. it s a whole thing going on. thank you. thank you so much. okay. anyway, so i m all verklempt. there s some news and especially where you re concerned. superman and batman have always, you know, enjoyed separate entities, separate movies. but now there s talk of the two of them joining forces. and teaming up. i think it s even more than talk. there s actually confirmation of a sequel. you obviously played the role of superman. what do you think of these two merging? look at that symbol. that s just weird. i think it s going to be fantastic for dc comics. in the way that the avengers did it for marvel. they got everybody together. it was fantastic. they have separate franchises now. it s nice to bring them together. it s going to be interesting. the superman is more angsty than the superman of the past. you have that batman guy who talks like this. if you were superman who would you want to be your batman to be? who would be the one you d like ....
yes, sir. i loved how ted cruz said yesterday that just the picture of the brooklyn bbq was an admission against interest. right. it was per se, negligence. he went right to the pickles too. he wasn t even worried about the meat which was so pathetic that we re talking about. it was about the pickles. shoved to the side of the plate. first of all, texas bbq or memphis or alabama bbq, you don t have that much space. those pickles are usually served under the ribs because you ve got too much meat on the plate. by the way, the mark hamill, i don t know if you saw that last getting his star on the walk of fame. i really i do you liked the last jedi. there s some whiners out there that have complained about it. mark hamill s performance, he hated what they were doing with his character. it was a performance of his lifetime. it really was extraordinary. he was extraordinary in that movie and it just shows you you never really know how things are going to end up ....
