Reporter police are still on the scene, such a tragic situation. People coming here to work out at the gym when this happened. It happened 6 30 right behind me. Police say an elderly woman was trying to park in front of the gym in one of the parking spots when she had pedal confusion, meaning she hit the gas instead of the brake. She drove her mercedes suv 60 feet into the gym where there was a fitness class going on. Everyone who was injured was in that clasp this happened lifestyle in livermore. Five were treated and released from the hospital with moderate injuries, and one woman was killed, 49yearold woman from livermore, her name has not been released today. Police are still on the scene, trying to figure out what happened here. Quite chaotic. Glass everywhere, people trying to help the injured and, you know, the Fire Department arriving. Together from the Charter School where that alleged attack happened on that girl nearly a week ago. The school claims it learned after that arrest that almost none of the schools employees had been fingerprinted or had their backgrounds checked. Ian is live in the news room. Ian, some of these people were fired. Thats right. And no one on the schoolboard would say why, citing its a confidential personnel matter. All three of the employees fired, including the suspect, jonathan chou, were assistants at the school. The decision what is announced at the sparks schoolboard meeting tonight. Parents there upset more wasnt done to protect their kids. I was shocked. And then i was angry. Reporter michael was supposed to be moved to a Mental Health program before he was found in a cell beaten to death. Shannon says if those responsible thought he was an insignificant, forgotten man, they were wrong. He was loved. He was part of a family. Sisters who loved him, aunts who loved him. Daughter has a broken collarbone and broken neck and other injuries, too. She was thrown from that tour vehicle after a crash that killed four people and injured dozens more. A ride the duck tour vehicle and a bus collided in seattle thursday morning. The moodys say they remember riding along feeling like the tour vehicle was losing control and seeing that bus coming at them. I heard him say oh, no, and stuff like that and i said were in trouble and went right to the bus and thats when i grabbed my wife and pushed her down and held her and i got thrown. I was thrown from the bus, and just i immediately got up, which i probably shouldnt have done and looked for dad and tried to find mom and had to lay back down. She actually has a broken bone in her neck. This is the last photo before the ride. We were told katys mom suffered a broken bone. The tour company expressed condolences.
