You can see the cloud cover in walnut creek. 50 in Mountain View, 50 in half moon bay. It looks blustery and wintry from mt. Tam. The winds are blowing and temperatures are in the 40s and 50s. So this is probably not going to get much warmer, the scene today, because with the winds gusti gusting to 23 miles an hour, the cool air mass is on the way. Starting out rather typical. But by the afternoon, the winds are gusty, the temperatures are 20 degrees cooler, and we have some precip along the shoreline that could fall as a rain snow mix, and thats not our only chance. About noon right up around the marin county area, you see those popping in. Thats 12 48 around danville so you see a few strikes there. Thats where most of the lightning strikes in the areas of the strong convection, thats where the lightning strikes were. Can coolcool air is still unstable where you might see some showers as we are seeing in San Francisco well, just east of San Francisco up in the north bay, clearlake even seeing snow on konocti and Cobb Mountain and south to santa cruz scattered showers, as well. Looks warmer, especially by sunday. 50s today. 6 am and sal tells us its pretty good generally. In general if youre trying to leave the house this early, you will have a decent commute. We start in the peninsula and San Francisco, highway 101 looks good. Northbound 101 and southbound from here to the 80s split, down the peninsula, it looks good if youre trying to get to the airport or anywhere down the peninsula. If you are driving in the east bay, trying to get to San Francisco, you will have to deal with the bay bridge toll plaza. Its backed up to the maze and the metering lights are on. This is 880 in oakland. This commute also looks good. 880 in general has been good as you drive through. No major problems. We did have a crash on 880 and a street involving several cars.
