About 10 seconds. Good evening, im julie haener. Im frank somerville. A family in the north bay considers itself lucky tonight after another hoverboard caught fire. It damaged, but didnt destroy their home. The toy that has caused two fires in sonoma county, in just the past week. Reporter this time, it was a hoverboard charging in the petaluma bedroom of a 13year old girl. Her dad had heard about fires with these devices, but he never expected it to happen to them. This whole area just lited up bright orange, and the light was coming from my daughters room. Parts of this machine were ricocheting off the walls and off the doors and were flying right past me here. Reporter in the smoke, he dodged flaming projectiles from the hoverboard. He threw the electrical breaker, grabbed a fire extinguisher and called to his family to get out. He sprayed the hot spots, then saw the hoverboard flaring again. It went from being a cool toy to oh, my gosh. This is where the mother board and everything ....
