Nearly 2 million people are without power. And joining general honore. Good to have you on the show. Let me get your assessment from someone like you who knows the damage you re seeing right now. What do you make of the damage we re seeing across the south. Well i think you clarified the point. This was amongst the storm that attacked florida. Made its way through georgia and into north carolina and tennessee. And even parts of virginia. It s a massive storm. I dropped enormous amount of water. Not measured in inches but by a foot in some places 2foot of water dropped. It overdropped the terrain. And when you do that it s going go into the valleys. A lot of commune tips had not experienced that. And what we have seen, with condolences to everyone who lost their lives the impact of the flash flooding
Us to deal with. And i love the way you two talked about whats happening and whats going to happen. Well, i mean, shes setting the tone for the administration. We have actually heard a lot from the new president in the past eight days. He has spoken publicly a lot. But we are hearing even more from jen psaki in the briefing room, and shes setting this tone of normalcy, accountability, Expository Work that tells us what the administration thinks the problem is, what they are doing to work on it, who is in charge of that work. And that person will be answering questions about it, as will jen psaki on behalf of the entire administration. Its just basic accountability, which is basic small deed democracy, which is just something we were used to before. We lost it for four years, and now it just feels so radical to get back to it. I hope it never i hope we never take it for granted again. I think we have, for this year, a series of rachel and jen conversations coming up at 9 00 p. M. Interm

Conscience not her fealty to trump. 60 out of that number. One vote was present. We have manu raju on capitol hill. An historic vote. There was a lot of talk. The feel of it was as you were reporting earlier that cheney might lose. She went behind the scenes for several weeks in the aftermath of the vote to impeach donald trump, talking to members trying to get them on their side explaining her vote. It appears to have paid off. She was listening to the concerns and did not back away from her vote. In fact today she said she does not regret voting to impeach donald trump. She made that clear to her conference but there were an outspoken contingent of members who came after her very aggressively through the course of this more than fourhour closed door meeting. At the end of the day the members decided it is more important to unite at this moment than engage themselves in a divisive leadership fight and the ouster of the highest ranking republican woman in leadership.
