Our understanding is that it was completely unprovoked. There is no indication that the victim knew who the suspect was. It appears that the suspect came in to the theater by himself and the victim was by himself. There was no indication they knew each other at alrich and at all. Reporter and today they are looking into whether the attacker might be the same person who randomly killed a homeless man early monday morning a few blocks away. In that case the man was stabbed 50 times as he slept in this doorway. His friends and family are still trying to make sense of his killing. He grown up with me. He is very nice guy. Reporter Santa Rosa Police say they are concerned about two random stabbings within a matter of days and they are working now to figure out if the man they have in custody is responsible for both crimes.
