The Fairfield FFA Alumni is holding the annual winter meeting on Wednesday December 7th at 5:00 pm in the Fairfield Community High School Agricultural Classroom. All past members, parents and supporters are welcome to attend. State FFA Alumni Lifetime membership is only $50 and National FFA Alumni Lifetime membership is $250. Congratulations to the December Student of the Month, Jimmy Downs! Jimmy was nominated because he is always kind to other students and respectful of his teachers. Headlines for Wednesday, September 28th

Starting at 7am today, part of the Fairfield Memorial Hospital's main parking lot, to include the entrance into the main lobby of the hospital will be closed until approximately Noon. Drop offs and picks up will be at the Surgical Pavilion. This closure is due to a crane that will be moving in the new AC equipment as part of the Phase II renovations. There will be periods of time starting at 10am when they will be moving heavy duty equipment overhead and no staff or visitors will be permitted in certain areas of the main part of the hospital due to safety concerns. During these times FMH Security Staff will help guide visitors and staff. The Fairfield City Council met last night with all members present. The council approved 3 TIF Redevelopment Agreements. They include Farmers Daughter for $50,000. The business will be undertaking a complete renovation to the first floor and exterior work as well. Country Roads Realty for $5,500. Petitions for the Consolidated Election to be held on April 4, 2023, are now available in the office of City Clerk Tina Hutchcraft. A Mayor will be elected for a two-year term to fill the unexpired term of Mayor Mike Dreith, and one alderman from each of the city's four wards will be elected for a four-year term. Petition circulation began on September 20th. Filing period for petitions is December 12th through December 19th. The City Clerk's Office hours are 7am to noon and 1pm to 4pm Monday through Friday. The Wayne County Historical Society monthly meeting will be tonight at 6 in the Fairfield Library meeting room. A short business meeting will be followed by a discussion with Judith Puckett of the Local Landmarks Project and Country Churches Project. Members and guest are welcome.
