MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. â After being one of the first counties in the Tampa Bay area to give out the COVID-19 vaccine, Manatee County is wrapping up its distribution due to low demand.
As the vaccine has become more and more available, Manatee County Public Safety director Jake Saur says the demand to have a big county-run site is no longer there.
As the younger ages have been eligible to get the vaccine, there s just not been a high demand for the vaccine, said Saur. ....

Six Flags Magic Mountain Announced As COVID-19 Vaccination Site
Six Flags Magic Mountain has been named one of five “large-scale” vaccination sites opening across Los Angeles County next week as public health officials work to expand the county’s capacity for COVID-19 vaccine distribution.
Six Flags Magic Mountain is one of five vaccination sites scheduled to open on Tuesday, Jan. 19. Officials say that each site will be able to vaccinate approximately 4,000 people per day.
“In L.A. County, we have to vaccinate 10 million people, twice,” said Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn in a statement issued Friday. “These large-scale vaccination sites are going to help us get there by massively increasing our capacity to vaccinate people quickly and efficiently.” ....
