Protest by farmers’ unions over the three farm laws continues with thousands of agitators staying put at the Delhi border points for more than two weeks. The government now has launched a counter-mobilisation campaign under which outreach programmes are being held to enlist benefits of the three farm bills.
NEW DELHI: The deputy chairperson of the Karnataka legislative council on Monday was dragged and removed from his chair by Congress Members of Legislative Council (MLCs) resulting in sine dine adjournment of the session.
Congress MLCs heckled and pushed deputy chairman SL Dharme Gowda, who is a JD(S) MLC from his seat.
Congress MLCs said that the BJP and the JD(S) made the chairman sit in the chair illegally when House was not in order.

Bengaluru, Dec 15: Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs including ministers Basavaraj Bommai and JC Madhuswamy and MLCs of the Janata Dal (Secular) on Tuesday met Governor Vajubhai Vala regarding the ruckus that took place in the Karnataka Legislative council session earlier in the day.
They also wrote a letter regarding the incident that took place in the legislative council.
Earlier in the day, the Karnataka Legislative Council was adjourned sine die following the forceful removal of Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council from the Chair by Congress MLCs.
