Yeah, good morning, kris. I spoke to a family friend that lives ten minutes from the campus. Saddened by the news. We are also learning that the 18yearold Kirk Kimberly graduated last year. We have the police tape up. Those are the search and rescue crews wearing the orange over there searching for evidence to find out what caused his death. The investigation into the mysterious death of the 18yearold, Kirk Kimberly continues. He has been missing since midoctober. The remains of his body found in a shallow grave on the campus of sonoma state a few days ago. I want to send out my sincere condolences to the family. The Sonoma County Sheriffs Department will search ten acres from the campus for more evidence throughout the day. Kimberly graduated last year. The

A couple other things were watching besides the radar. Temperatures you see, just a few of us mainly in the sand hills along the i95 are above freezing and thats barely. Everyone else in thes to of 20s. Anything falling and that stuff already on the ground is going to remain frozen or get frozen. Then we have the winds. A lot of ice on power lines and trees. I dont know if youve heard t but trees snapping, Power Transformers popping all over town because our winds keep blowing that ice around on the trees and power lines and its gusting even higher than that. So Power Outages will continue to be a problem. In addition to stuff still coming out of the sky, issues with travel and were not going to warm up tomorrow. We do have warmer weather and sunshine in the forecast. Ill take you to that and go hour by hour through tomorrow in a few minutes. With the precipitation continu ....

Labor Dept.'s independent contractor rule withdrawn

DOL’s independent contractor rule withdrawn
The Department of Labor is officially withdrawing a late-Trump-era rulemaking that would have clarified the definition within the Fair Labor Standards Act. Because the rule never took effect, owner-operators will so no changes as a result of the rule s withdrawal.
DOL published the final rule on Jan. 7, shortly before the end of Trump’s presidency. Just days prior to the rule’s publication, the incoming Biden administration specifically mentioned the independent contractor rule as one of Trump’s “midnight regulations” that would be halted.
The independent contractor rule would have used five economic-reality factors to help businesses determine whether a worker is an employee or an independent contractor. Two of those factors – the nature and degree of the worker’s control over the work and the worker’s opportunity for profit or loss – were the two “core” factors for determining a worker’ ....
