yamaguchi, all on our show today. well, we are big fans and admirers of our first guest. brand wong aoki has been a guest and performer on asian pacific america a number of times along with her partner, mark izu. and i followed them for many years before that as the two of them played a big role in the evolution of asian-american art, combining traditional and contemporary elements. but recently, brenda was awarded a commission from the hewlett foundation to create a new work of art in 2021. so today, she is here first as a solo guest to talk about her life and work. welcome back to the show. brenda wong aoki: oh, thank you, robert. robert: well, first of all, let s talk about this commissioned work here. what s it going to be, and how does it kind of fit into sort of your whole body of work and what you ve done? brenda: okay. first of all, i have to say thank you hewlett foundation for this big commission cause it s like a big commission. and when mark and i first found o
even the race of the victim at this point, but the medical examiner was able to figure out a few things. right now the coroner believes that there s no trauma to the body, that this may have been just an accident, but always very difficult to say. we re not going to rule anything out. we ll look at everything. what we are looking at is a young male. we don t know the race at this time because the torso is so decompo decomposed. they do believe it s many been in the water for at least a month, maybe a little longer. we do not expect it to have any impact with regard to the bringing down of the old bay bridge. that process will continue from this point forward. it will not have any impact on the traffic or otherwise. reporter: the man who made the discovery did not work for caltrans, but they were out herd aszv precaution andu! because is so close to their demolition project. now, with finger prints and dental records ruled out because this is only a torso, police will need
