The governor unveiled his new 222 billion proposal stating that california is in great financial state. His budget includes 21 billion in reserves for any economic downturn and a 5. 6 billion surplus. The budget calls for 750 million of the surplus to be directed toward organized organizations that help homeless. Leslie brinkley sat down with the governor to ask him about affordability and the homelessness, both important topics for bay area residents. Certainly. He said that last years budget earmarked 650 million towards homelessness. This year adds another 750 million towards that goal, and he says all of that is about to come to fruition, something were going to notice on the streets in the next few weeks. Police were called to the 11hundred block of matterhorn drive around 3 this morning. A man was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital with lifethreatening injuries. The gunman has not been found. Our top story this morning. A young boy is dead after a playground accident at a private school in san rafael. james the school says classes will be in session this morning. The accident happened yesterday on the playground at Mark Day School on trellis drive. The school says other students and staff witnessed the accident and tried to provide aid for the young boy. He died at a hospital. The school is working with police to investigate what happened. And the section of campus where the accident happened has been closed off.
