20 years ago i was a senior at the university of miami getting into the shower. i remember complaining about how tabloid the today show was that day, wishing for something more substantive. i got out of the shower, turned up the tv, and the north tower of the world trade center was on fire. what were you are doing when you heard the news? would you recognize who you were then or the country we lived in? and what have we gained after 20 years of war? what have we lost? are we safer now than we were then? people have been asking those questions throughout the day, taking perspective on this 20th anniversary of the september 11th attacks. memorial ceremonies took place across the country today. it was a chance for family members to honor their loved ones and for the nation to honor its promise to never forget. today president biden visited the sites of all three memorials. he started in lower manhattan alongside former presidents clinton and obama. he joined a wreath-lay ....
