Areas surrounding Gladstone also received good rainfall with 69mm recorded at Boyne Island, 57mm at Benaraby and 40mm in Miriam Vale. Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist James Thompson said the rain was likely to continue into the next two days. “We’re looking at a trough system in the area for the next 24 to 48 hours,” he said. “With that we do have an increased risk of heavy rainfalls in the Capricornia district. “We could see some more heavy rainfall totals over the coming days and the tropical air mass.” ....

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics treated the woman at the scene before she was taken to Gladstone hospital in a stable condition. INITIAL REPORT: 2.37pm Emergency services have been called to Lake Awoonga, west of Gladstone, after reports a person is in trouble after a jet skiing incident. It is understood the person is near a boat ramp at the lake. A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics were called to Awoonga Dam Road at Benaraby at 1.42pm. ....
On June 3 police searched a Barney Point address where they located less than 0.1g of meth, six clipseal bags, 0.5g of marijuana, another 2.5g of marijuana, 17 Lyrica capsules, a homemade water pipe, a Dare coffee bottle fashioned into a utsenil and a red and brass coloured pipe. On June 11 at 7.50am police were called to a New Auckland address where they located Wehi who said sheâd injected herself with three points of ice over the past 12 hours. An ambulance was called and she was placed under an emergency examination however refused to comply with paramedicsâ instructions. Wehi became verbally aggressive and threw a mug on the floor in front of her and tried to walk away. ....
Premium Content Subscriber only MORE than 2064 school suspensions were handed to Gladstone State High School students in the past five years, recent data has shown. New data released this week revealed three Gladstone schools had more than 1000 suspensions, with some ranging from exclusion to cancellation. Gladstone State High School reported some of the highest rates of suspension across the board at 2064 incidents including 1815 short suspensions, 116 long suspensions, 72 exlusions and 61 cancellations. Toolooa State High School followed closely behind recording 1674 school suspensions. Tannum Sands State High School had 1023 school suspensions. A Department of Education spokesman said Queensland schools had high expectations for positive and respectful behaviour from all students and adults. ....
