transylvania county man charged with first degree murder continues. richard o shields is accused of shooting and killing toby mathis in 2011. holly: news 13 s lauren brigman is live outside the courthouse in brevard. lauren, several people claim they saw o shields pull the trigger. lauren: yeah, witnesses say that o shields came into the rosman dollar general store and began firing at mathis. authorities say o shields shot him five times. prosecutors are calling this a revenge killing. they say that o shields killed mathis as payback for his son s death. mathis was charged with involuntary manslaughter for the death of o shield s son joey months prior to the shooting. on friday, the jury heard from prosecution witnesses including the county s medical examiner at the time of the killing. he detailed a diagram of mathis wounds. a detective with the transylvania county sheriff offense department testified lead fragments were found at the scene and the jury saw sur ....
