The observations were made while rejecting a review petition filed by Kejriwal against a March 31 judgment of the High Court which had held that Gujarat University need not furnish information about the degree of Modi.
A Sessions Court has rejected a revision plea by the Delhi CM, Arvind Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh, who had challenged an order summoning them for allegedly defamatory comments on the degree of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In an order passed on April 17 this year, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jayeshbhai Chovatiya while issuing summons, had said that the statements made by Kejriwal and Singh were prima facie defamatory.
The Court noted that PM Modi's educational qualifications were already available online, and there was no public interest in seeking disclosure of the same through RTI.
