Amit Jethwa was shot dead by assailants in 2010 while outside the gates of the Gujarat High Court, days after he filed a petition accusing Solanki of being involved in illegal mining near Gir forest.
A bench of Chief Justice Sunita Agarwal and Justice Aniruddha Mayee noted the potential threat of hantavirus released when rodents lose control of their bodily functions.
The Court took note of the apology and disposed of a public interest litigation (PIL) before it after offering some suggestions for the Internal Complaints Committee at the University.
"He (GNLU Registrar) had that courage to come to the Court and say on affidavit that, 'No, there is nothing.' He has not even submitted apology to us," the Gujarat High Court observed.
