Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has challenged the single-judge Gujarat High Court ruling that there is no mandate under the RTI Act to disclose Prime Minister Narendra Modi's academic certificates.
The observations were made while rejecting a review petition filed by Kejriwal against a March 31 judgment of the High Court which had held that Gujarat University need not furnish information about the degree of Modi.
A sessions court had recently refused to quash the summons issued against the two politicians for their alleged defamatory statements made with regard to the controversy pertaining to the academic degree of PM Modi.
Justice Samir Dave is likely to hear the plea on Friday, after a sessions court refused to grant an interim stay of the summons issued to the duo by a magistrate court.
