BLISSFIELD — Blissfield was one of more than 2,500 communities across the United States that gathered Saturday for the "Wreaths Across America Day" ceremonies.Residents gathered in Pleasant View Cemetery at noon to pay tribute to the servicemen and women who have died. It was the third annual "Wreaths Across America Day" in Blissfield.Wreaths, which were transported from Columbia Falls, Maine, to Blissfield, were placed on the graves of more than 550 veterans. Wreaths laid at Fort Sill Post, National cemeteries


They came from rural Southwest Oklahoma farm and ranch towns, as well as from bustling metropolitan cities — some even came from south of the Red River.
Patriots all, many who themselves served this nation in the Armed Forces of the United States, some who held the tiny hands of their children or grandchildren as they walked along, an estimated 200 people of all ages sought to participate in the annual Wreaths Across America (WAA) Day this year at either — or both — Fort Sill Post and Fort Sill National cemeteries Dec. 19.
Events at both locations started at 11 a.m. with prayers and brief remarks. ....

MISSOULA — More than 2,000 cemeteries nationwide took part in the annual “Wreaths Across America” event over the weekend to honor our fallen veterans.
Each year, a new theme is chosen to help volunteers and supporters focus their messaging and outreach in their own communities.
This year, Wreaths Across America chose the theme, “Be an American Worth Fighting For.”
A socially distant crowd gathered at the Western Montana Veterans Cemetery on Saturday where that message was heard and felt by many.
Attendees distributed around 1,000 wreaths to each headstone, pausing for a moment of reflection. ....
