CHELMSFORD Incumbent George Dixon and Zoning Board of Appeals Chairman Mark Carota won a four-way contest for two open Select Board seats in the April 6 town-wide elections.
Meanwhile, a four-way race for three open Planning Board seats saw an upset. Challengers Deirdre Connolly and Paul McDougall joined incumbent Timothy Shanahan as victors. Incumbent Glenn Kohl is out, coming in fourth place in the vote tally.
The election saw a turnout of 3,258, or 13% of the town s 25,864 registered voters, according to Town Clerk Tricia Dzuris. It was a great race
Dixon has won his bid for a fifth term on the board; Carota is a longtime member of the Zoning Board of Appeals.

CHELMSFORD Candidates for Select Board and other offices made their case to voters in brief introductions at the March 8 Select Board meeting.
The elections are set for April 6, with March 17 as the last day to register to vote.
Select Board
Four candidates are vying for two open seats on the Select Board, each with a three-year term.
Three of the four candidates introduced themselves to voters at the meeting.
Latosha Dixon, co-chairman of the Diversity, Racial Equity and Inclusion Committee, said, I decided to run for Select Board, because we are the policy makers and leaders of the community.
