lot of cloud cover. our system is sliding down following more of a westerly path than the system on. weekend which gave a wide variety of weather. it's raining in southern california. a few breaks in the clouds. mostly cloudy. cool today. 60s on the temps. there is the system. you can see a lot of that shower activity is favoring areas in the pacific. here's brian with the traffic. we're off to a decent start this morning. there are some trouble pockets if you will on the traffic look this morning. one of them has to do, westbound 580, the livermore valley. that was moved to the side. the major concern is gonna be this year. this is state route 84. just south of 580. this is a sig-alert with -- affecting both lanes of traffic. there was an overturned car. so a little more police responding to this call. they have blocked both directions on state route 84 this morning. 680 not looking great but that's the best alternative if you are leaded toward calaveras road. the san mateo bridge, traffic is backing up. that traffic backs up to the nimitz freeway. 280 in san jose, also traffic starting to pick up on 101. also on the almaden expressway from blossom hill road to saratoga. back to the desk. >> all right. thank you, brian. police in livermore have detained a man in connection with a shooting death of two other men. it happened yesterday about 4:30 p.m. on altamont creek drive near winding stream drive. police say when they arrived, they found two men who have been shot only one of them was alive. he was taken to a nearby hospital. he died soon after. coming up at 7:30. katie utehs will have a live report in livermore with the latest details on the investigation. all right. well, when the streets are full of potholes, it's the kind of problem that you and i, ever noticed. in the south bay, there is a new report out that finds more than half of the roads are in bad shape. ktvu fox 2's janine de la vega is joining us live in san jose with a huge price tag for mixing those -- fixing those potholes. >> reporter: the city auditor put together a report that found that 60% of the roads here in san jose are so warn out, that expensive repairs are needed. on park avenue, there is a lot of repairs needed. this section has not been maintained since 198 had -- 1984. san jose ranks 9 out of 109 prayer cities. the city audit shows pavement conditions continue to decline more and more and the streets could be falling in the worse condition category. streets need to be maintained every ten years to fix and prevent potholes and cracking. the audit shows the streets received maintenance in the last decade. drivers and cyclists definitely notice it. >> where i've gotten flats have been along those roads. no car flats, just bike roads. i don't drive along those roads. it's terrible. >> reporter: what's it like? >> it's really bumpy. a lot of trucks go down there. >> reporter: the department of transportation estimates it would cost $504 million to fix everything. the auditor is recommending that city officials develop a plan that includes a one-time funding source. that might include going to voters to see how big of a priority this is. the committee will meet to discuss the audit and what's next. in the meantime, dave, this just gonna cost drivers more money because those in the industry say that again it wears out your tires and additional repairs could be needed for your car. >> don't we all know. all right. janine de la vega in san jose, thank you. oakland police are looking at surveillance video that could help them identify who killed a 14-year-old oakland boy on saturday night. ktvu fox 2 reporter tara moriarty is live now at oakland technical school where he was a freshman. good morning, tara. >> reporter: well, good morning. this is the first day back to school for students who lost a fellow classmate over et -- oev over the weekend. we spoke to his uncle. he said his nephew was talented and also doing well in school. he was walking with friends on brack dale and humboldt -- brookdale and humboldt when somebody owned fire. neighbors performed cpr but he died at the hospital. >> the possibility of mistaken identity always exists. the possibility of retaliation always exitists. we're not able to say at that point in the investigation exactly what led up to the shooting. >> detectives are reviewing surveillance to see if it provides any clues. counselors will be on hand at the high school to provide grief counseling. live from oakland, tara moriarty, back to you. repair work is expected to start today in san francisco on a water main that burst yesterday morning. the 12-inch main broke about 8:30 between arlington and san jose avenue. the san joses filled with water and mud and -- streebts filled with water -- the streets filled with mud and water. it was closed for several hours as crews cleaned up the mess. the san francisco public utilities commission is investigating the cause of the break. a new report finds a cost of fixing leaks on the new eastern span of the bay bridge has now topped $1 million. the chronicle says it obtained documents shows engineers decided to eliminate a backup drainage system on the bridge. aid cording to the report, that change allowed water to leak into the support structure. the chronicle also says that although caltrans has spent $1.4 million trying to fix the leaks, the problem continues. 7:07. after a 12-hour search, police in hayward arrested a man who they believe fired shots at a police officer. the 27-year-old man was arrested yesterday afternoon. authorities say he fired thoughts at an officer near winton avenue and soto road after a traffic stop at:00 a.m. the suspect pulled over, got out of the car, fired at the officer and ran away. the officer was not hit and did fire back. a woman who lives in the area said she was forced to leave her house as police searched for the gunman. >> they were like, you need to get out now. i said i have a new-born baby. i need to grab pampers or whatever. you need to get out. they had rifles in their hand. we had no choice but to leave. >> the suspect was tracked down on d street. police say he may be linked to another shooting in hayward saturday night. 7:08. march kicking off with some intense winter weather that could break the snowfall record. in fact, take a look. can you imagine having to deal with that snow? piles of snow stacked up all over the city. boston has already seen 104 inches. that's only 3.5 inches away from their all-time record. area is expected to get more snow and up to 8 inches is expected to fall in southeastern massachusetts and rhode island. meanwhile, the mayor of boston is putting a stop to people claiming stakes in parking spots in the midst blizzards. some people have been carving out parking spots and inserting space savers. the mayor says crews have worked to remove much of the snow and it's no longer necessary to hold spots. they do this in danville trying to save your spot there. the weather also appears to be affecting flights in and out of the san francisco international airport. online, we found the number of canceled flights. yesterday there were more cancellations due to the weekend storm on the east coast. right now we're waiting to hear back from the airport to confirm how many cancellations are due to the them going up, up almost a dollar over the past month. how california compares to other states and why you drivers won't be getting a break any time soon. well, good morning, everybody. we're keeping an eye on our traffic as well this morning going into the heart of the morning commute. taking a look at the east bay as well as the east shore. we'll have an update coming up. a lot of cloud cover over us. another system coming down the coast. this one showing most of the energy off the coast. it listen a cloudy day -- it will be a cloudy day. we'll see if there's any rain there. welcome back. time is 7:12. look at that. a dramatic midair rescue in australia caught on camera. it happened during this sky driving training course in november. 22-year-old christopher jones jumped out of the plane. looked like he was enjoying himself. but watch closely. less than 30 seconds into the jump, he had a seizure in midair. now, luckily, after two attempts his instructor was able to release his parachute. shortly after that, jones came out of his see chur -- seizure. he did land safely. a midair incident temporarily delayed a flight from oakland to mama -- maui. the hawaiian airlines flight was still gaining altitude when the plane hit a flock of sandpiper birds. the pilot told passengers what was happening and as a precaution, he turned around and went back to oakland airport. >> any type of bird strike is a serious event. you want to check out any type of damage to the control service, enjen before you go on -- engine before you go on. >> the flight did resume. passengers made it to safe to maui. they are investigating the cause of what happened and where the birds may have been heading. well, i filled up my car and you probably noticed like me that gas prices went up. on friday, gas prices jumped 20 cents in california. the current average for regular unleaded is 3.39 in california. that's up 2 cents from yesterday. last week, drivers were paying 2.95 a gallon. a month ago. most drivers were paying about a dollar less than they are now. the supply has been drying up since the fire at the exxonmobil refinery in torrance in southern california and also the strike at the tesoro refinery in martinez. state lawmakers plan to hold a series of hearings on the gas shortage starting this week. now, to show you how much more we're paying for gas here in california compared to the rest of the nation, take a look at this map. you can see california completely in red. that means gas prices are more than $3 a gallon. pretty much on the west coast. that's the case. all of the states in yellow kind of in the northern part of the country and over on the east coast, that's where you are paying about 2.50 or less and the green states, especially up there down in the san francisco area, that's where folks are paying less than $2 a gal on fill up -- gallon to fill out. drivers in san francisco are paying 3.44 to fill up. and in san jose, it's costing 3.36 and in oakland, drivers are paying about 3.34. dave, i pulled over. i found a place to pay 3.09. >> wow, tori, i have to find that place. hewlett-packard just announced its biggest deal in several years. it will pay 2.7 billion for aruba networks of sunnyvale. now, hp says this deal will boost its commercial technology business as it's getting ready to split into two different businesses. aruba makes wi-fi networks for shopping malls, hotels and universities. well, google wants to show you what it's like to soar through the trees in the amazon jungle. the street through option and google maps mostly gives you a panoramic view of cities and neighborhoods. but google has found a creative wray to show ex -- way to show exotic places. they are teaming up to show an amazon rain forest in brazil. it carry as camera on a zipline through those trees in the jungle. let's check in with brian flores. as we've mentioned, brian is in for sal today for a very special injuries northbound 680 south of east capitol expressway. the right shoulder is affected there and then also there is an accident on 87 northbound, north of airport parkway right shoulder also blocked there. the major problem, though, is gonna be state route 84 near vineyard. there is a sig-alert still in effect this morning. this is an overturned pickup truck. it's backing up traffic along 84 their morning, especially in the southbound direction. so the alternate would be 680 as you can see, it's red there also. be patient. 580 backed up as well just from typical traffic as you would see on a monday morning. taking a look at the bay bridge toll plaza, solid backup in the cash lanes. it has started to pick up now along interstate 80 from the carquinez bridge to the macarthur maze, at least 34 minutes to get you from that point, again, to the mac maze and you tack on another 20, 25 minutes to get you across the span. 880 in oakland, past the coliseum and oracle arena, things are looking okay for this monday morning. here's steve. thank you, brian. we have another system. this one is favoring areas closer to the coast of the not so much inland. only a little bit of snow for the sierra nevada. not one to two feet. but maybe one to two inches. more cloud cover. probably not the dynamics associated with the one on saturday. that was more cold air associated with it. you got the thunderstorms and the hail for some. not for all. producing rain down in southern california. there are some breaks in the clouds. but look for a mostly cloudy, cool day. a few scattered showers after tonight and tomorrow. that system will be south of us. it will move into southern california again but look for mostly cloudy skies. maybe a few scattered showers today. end of the week looks ship a machine used to make guns at home. a texas company makes the machines called ghost gunners. it says it's still producing the machines but distribution may soon be impossible now that u.p.s. and fed-ex will not pick up or deliver the machines. the company says it's forced to put hundreds of orders on hold. >> i literally don't know how i'm gonna ship them. what ilike, they get to pretend they are ethical when they are really making a choice of convenience. >> fed-ex and u.p.s. say their refusal to accept the machines for shipping is not political. they are waiting for government federal not often you get to see a hero like that. >> well said. joe bell died in january. in his honor, the race organizers created the memorial mile. they invited veterans of all ages to support the cause. near a park. we are also keeping an eye on your bay area traffic this morning. as expected, around this time, it's starting to get very busy in the south bay. we'll take a look at the east bay as stories -- police are looking at surveillance video to help them figure out who shot and killed a 14-year-old boy. he was walking on humboldt when he was shot. investigators are still trying to find a possible motive and say this could be a result of mistaken identity. a new report finds 60% of the streets in san jose are so badly in shape, repairs are needed. the audit is blaming insufficient funding for the problem. only 38% of san jose streets actually get any kind of complaint ents. the department of transportation estimates it would cost $504 million to fix those roads. and the stormy weather on the east coast is affecting flights in and out of san francisco international airport. online, we have a list of about 10 flights that have already been canceled today. let's go to tori and warm. here's brian. >> all right. thank you. good morning, everybody. we're keeping an eye on your bay area traffic. it's starting to pick up. we are in the heart of the morning commute as we like to say in the traffic world. taking a look at the san mateo bridge as you approach the high rise, pretty heavy backup into foster city. i'm not seeing any major reasons why. the only thing being reported, is there a paint can in the number one lane. it's hard to believe there would be that. if you are headed toward the san mateo bridge toward foster city. be aware of that. major backup. it goes all the way up the nimitz freeway. let's go to the sunol grade camera. this looks great. the reason i bring this up, this is the part where you are home free if you get to the sunol grade. the major reason why, as we go to the maps, state route 84, that remains a major problem this morning as i mentioned. that's because of an overturned truck. preliminary police -- livermore police responding. this has gotten better within the past five minutes. it's a sig-alert. the last we heard, both directions of 84 are still closed as they work the scene. unclear of the injuries to the truck driver but again livermore police responding to this one. obviously, the alternate would be taking 680 southbound. that's not getting any better as well. there is an accident eastbound 580 west of palo verde road. that appears to be a noninjury accident but 580 just a mess this morning. 7:32. here's dave. >> okay. thank you. police in livermore investigating a deadly shooting where two young men were killed. it's livermore's first homicide in that city since 2012. ktvu fox 2's katie utehs is in livermore right now and you just talked to a neighbor who saw that shooting. katie? >> reporter: well, dave, her dog sensed something was going on when the men were arguing and began to bark. she came outside and said the shooting happened in this stretch of grass which is behind the park. >> we livard the corner and heard -- live around the corner and heard the loud pop. we were getting in our car to go the grocery store. i looked to the side and insaw our neighbor -- and i saw our neighbor helping someone. i just saw someone laying in the grass. >> reporter: the shooting happened around 4:30 last night in the north side of the city, where near altamont creek and winding stream drive, and police say three men got into and a verbal argument -- into and a verbal argument. a friend of the victim arrived this morning to pay his respects and was still shaken by the news. >> strage tragedy, you no he -- tragedy, you know. violence needs to stop. whether, you know, too many -- too many guns. >> at this point, we believe it's one suspect and it was -- that they knew each other. what the relationship is we don't know for sure. >> reporter: in this video, you can see an officer recover a gun in what appears to be evidence from the scene but investigators would not comment at the time around 9:00 last night, officers received a tip as to the possible shooter's location. they detained a man near the springtown golf course but would not release any details. police say this is normally a quiet and safe neighborhood. they are holding a press conference this morning at 9:00 a.m. so at that point, we may learn more details as to if this person was detained is their suspect. >> thank you for the live report. 27-year-old man is wait be to be extradited from arizona to sonoma county to face charges in the brutal killing of an 84-year-old woman in pengrove. victor silva of ma rain county is -- marin county is one of two men arrested over weekend in connection with the woman's death. silva was arrested during a wild police chase from riverside county to arizona. investigators say he was with an unidentified woman. officers say the two fired shots at other cars and even fired at an officer putting down spike strips. when the two suspects crashed, investigators say the woman pulled out a gun and officers shot and killed her. on saturday, up dos arrested 27- year-old john martinez in rich -- deputies arrested 27-year- old john martinez in richmond. she lived in pengrove with her brother. last thursday, she was found dead inside the home which had been ransacked. her brother was visiting friends for his 75th birthday when his sister was killed. he tells ktvu the two had little value inside their farmhouse. >> there was nothing here. no reason to kill somebody. >> it doesn't make sense. yeah, it -- the whole thing doesn't make sense. >> my sister was a saint. i mean, couldn't ask for a better woman. >> her brother says olga was vibrant and healthy at the age of 84 and he enjoyed going out for church and shopping. he describes her as a giving person who still had a lot to offer. san francisco police will hold a town hall meeting tonight about the shooting in the mission district. it happened thursday night when two plain clothes officers responded to reports about a man with a life at 24th and folsom. they say a man was trying to steal another man's bike. reported the officers told the man to drop the knife but he refused. that's when he was shot and killed. the town hall meeting starts tonight at 6:00 at cesar chavez elementary. the justice department may release a report accusing police in ferguson, missouri of racial discrimination. the investigation was launched after a white police officer shot and killed michael brown. according to the new york times, the report accuses the ferguson -- accuses the ferguson police of issuing citations and relying on those fines to fill holes in the city's budget. now, in a separate investigation, the department of justice is also expected to clear ferguson police officer darren wilson of civil rights violations in the shooting death. michael brown. that report is also expected to be released soon. police in los angeles say a struggle over a gun led their officers to shoot and kill a homeless man. now, a bystander posted this video of the confrontation that was taken in the cell phone camera in the background. you see the officers surroundth man. he's down on the -- surrounding the man. he's down on the ground. police were responding to a robbery call in downtown l.a. they say they went to question the man. when he couldn't cooperate, they used a stun gun. that's when police say the man grabbed a police officer's gun. >> i had my phone out, videotaping the whole thing. and -- the officer hollered -- hollered, he's going for my gun! he's on the ground. >> some are questioning deadly force. police are talking with witnesses and are also searching for more surveillance video to help them in the investigation. an nfl player has been arrested in vacaville according to several reports. jared bush was arrested yesterday for public intoxication. we have no other details at this point. jared bush who is from vacaville was released from jail and has been with the packers since 2006. benjamin net netanyahu is speaking this morning and he said his intention is not to get involved in american partisan politics. >> the last thing that anyone cares about israel, the last thing i would want is for israel to become a partisan issue. i regret that some people have misperceived my visit here of doing that. >> he was invited by the republican speaker of the house, john boehner, who did not consult with the white house and that's not the usual blow toe cobble -- protocol. but he said his speech before congress is not meant to show disrespect for president obama. he will be talking to congress about the iran nuclear talks. this morning he said such a deal could threaten the survival of israel. the department of homeland security is headed for a partial shutdown unless congress can make another deal by the end of in week. on friday, the house passed a one-week stop gap measure just hours before funding would have run out. now the senate is set to take a procedural vote today on whether to negotiate with the house on a funding bill that would also roll back president obama's expect disk orders on immigration -- executive orders on immigration. senate democrats say that will not happen. some republicans are saying the stubbornness of conservatives in both houses threatens to hurt the republican party. >> i share their view that the executive orders are illegal, unconstitutional but they are not the votes in the senate to defund the executive orders. >> now, republican senator lindsey graham is advising conservatives vote on a so- called clean funding bim and let the challenge to the -- bill an let the challenge to the president's expectative orders work its way through the -- executive orders work its way through the courts. in a formal vote, the law cabin republicans received official recognition at the state republican convention in sacramento. the vote was 861-293. the log cabin republicans had unsuccessfully sought recognition from the state party several times in the past. delegates say the vote this time around shows a changing republican party. >> 75% affirmed it's a way we win elections in california. >> the vote means for the first time ever, gay republicans are officially welcomed to organize and recruit new members to the party. uber is the latest company to report being a victim of hackers. the company says there was a cyberattack on its database of 50,000 current and former drivers. nearly half of those drivers are in california. uber says they discovered the problem in september but the actual break-in happened last may. the company says it has no report of data being misused. uber is contacting affected drivers and offering them one year of free identity monitoring services. an attempted breach at the white house late last night and another this morning. at 8:00, the incidents that have them on high alert. a big pay increase for people in one bay area little bigger. >> but some businesses day it's bad news for them and for consumers. pam cook is in the studio now. this debate, pam, over raising the minimum wage. >> starting today, oakland becomes one of several cities across the country, raising its minimum wage but not everyone is happy about it. it means nearly 48,000 people in oakland will get a bigger paycheck. but as the minimum wage goes from $9 to 12.25. many small businesses say they will have to raise prices and that cudz -- that includes some restaurants. we spoke to the owner of one who said they will balance that out with a change to a no- tipping policy. he says that makes more sense for consumers anyway. >> you don't go into a dry cleaners an give an extra 20%. you don't go to the grocery store and tip the ka sheer -- cashier. >> economists say the workers will have more money to spend. so it could be good for the economy. in our next hour of "mornings on 2," we'll have more reaction to the new minimum wage in oakland. >> interesting hearing both sides. california highway patrol looking for new recruits. the open application period starts at 8:00 this morning. that's just about 15 minutes away. it ends thursday afternoon. qualified candidates must be between 20.5 to 35 years old. they will have to pass a series of physical, written and background checks. they are looking for a wide variety of applicants but they are hoping more women will apply. >> all right. >> there you go. we got some very exciting news this morning. there is a new member of the ktvu family. she's so cute. >> beautiful. >> hey, sal, you did good. sal and his beautiful wife have given birth to their second child. she was born yesterday morning. there is that beautiful girl. she weighed in at 7 pounds, 13 ounces. sal, up their snow making operations. there is a chance for more snow today. starting tomorrow it will warm up again. 7:55. palo alto police released a sketch of a man wanted in connection with a recent intee sent exposure incident -- indecent exposure incident. investigators don't foe if this is linked to other cases reported in -- don't know if this is linked to other cases reported. a woman said she walked by a man naked in his car. he's described as being in his mid-30s, mid-40s with a medium built, short dark hair hand a goatee. he was driving a hatchback with tinted windows. hyundai is recalling 263,000 cars for problems with their power steering systems. the recall fearkts the el -- affects the elantra, the 2008 through 2010 model years. it can dysfunction and disable the power system. the drivers would have to steer manually. hyundai says no accidents or injuries related to the problem have been reported. the carmaker is notifying owners of affected cars and dealers will fix the problem for free. sam stung has announced it will -- samsung will offer two new smartphones. they will be on sale april 10th. the new phones will feature ta metal design -- a metal tee sign. both will have 5.1-inch screens and they will come if five cars colors and have multiple storage options ranging from 32 gigabytes to 128 gigabytes. it's a rough road for one bay area city. they are crumbling to the bottom of the bay area ranking. after the break, startling new report regarding roads in san jose and the costly effort it will take to make things better. oakland police are still searching for the person who shot and killed a 14-year-old boy while walking with his friends over the weekend. we'll tell you how his death is being handledled by officials -- handled by officials at just a freshman. >> reporter: that's the part that's particularly disturbing to parents and students here at oakland tech high school, that we've been able to talk to. even the chief of police denounced the killings saying all violent crime is tragic. his uncle says his nephew was a talented athlete and was doing very well in school. police say that he was walking with friends on brookdale and humboldt saturday night in the fruitvale neighborhood before 8:00 at night, when someone opened fire. >> i didn't know him personally but i did see him around the campus at times and stuff. >> were you shocked he was shot and killed? >> i was shocked. i think it's crazy that people are continuing and continuing to get killed and i just don't think it's right and i think it needs to be stopped. >> it's sad for people, let alone being black, don't even get to live to be 16. i think it's sad. >> reporter: neighbors say they heard the shots and did what they could to comfort devon. emergency crews performed cpr but he died at the hospital. d.c.s are -- detectives are reviewing surveillance. counselors will be at the high school to provide counseling. back to you. >> thank you. 8:04. police in livermore have detained a man in connection with the shooting deaths of two other men in a quiet neighborhood. it happened yesterday about 4:30 p.m. on altamont creek drive near winding stream drive. when police arrived, two men were shot. only one was alive. he was taken to a nearby hospital but died soon after. coming up at 8:30, katie utehs will have a live report in livermore with the latest details on the investigation. 8:04. drivers in san jose feel every bump, pothole and crack in the city roads. there is a new report detailing how bad the roads are and how much they need repairs. janine de la vega joining us live now in san jose with more about the report and what's being done. >> reporter: we're here on park avenue where you can see a lot of cracks and divits in the road. this section has not been maintained since 1984. a report out says that 60% of the streets here in san jose are so worn out that expensive repairs are needed. industry experts say the roads need to be repaired ten years. but the audit shows they've never met the goal due to insufficient funding. motorists drives on worn roads face higher costs because of the incleared tire wear, higher fuel consumption and repairs needed. transportation researchers estimated it could cost residents $760 a year. one cyclist says he's gotten numerous flats. >> those seem sob terrible roads for the -- seem to be terrible roads for the last four years. >> the department of transportation estimates it would cost $504 million to make the repairs needed now. san jose relies on state gas taxes and county vehicle registration fees but the auditor says that's not enough. the auditor is recommending that the officials develop a plan that includes a one-time funding source. that could mean going to voters to see if they would approve a sales tax measure. a committee is going to meet later today to discuss this and figure out some possible solutions. >> it's a big deal. yeah. thank you. we'll talk to you later. san francisco fire crews are mopping up after an early- morning fire in the portola neighborhood. it happened year at this house on felton street near oxford. the firefighters aggressively attacked the flames in the garage. it took firefighters about 30 minutes to get it under control. luckily no one was hurt. but people who live in that basement unit, they were displaced. the cause of the fire is still not known. repair work is expected to start today in san francisco on a water main that burst yesterday morning. it was a 12-inch water main, broke about 8:30 yesterday morning on roanoke street. the streets filled with water and mud. that water flow disrupted service on muni's j church line. westbound san jose avenue, it was closed for several hours as the crews were out there cleaning up the mess. >> like a waterfall or something. like a raging -- it undermined the earth, as you can see, from over there. so all of that -- all of that dirt and water forced all of that earth to be pushed this way. >> no one lost their water service in the area. the san francisco public utilities commission is investigating the cause of that water main break. a new report finds the cost for fixing leaks on the eastern span of the bay bridge has now topped $1 million. the chronicle obtains documents showing engineers decided to obtain a backup drainage system and that change allowed water to leak into the support structure, according to the report. they also say they've used 1.4 million of toll plaza money to fix the leaks leaks and the problem -- fix the leaks and the problem continues. here's some video. look at this. tori -- >> wow. >> too much. this is an idea of what the people in boston have had to deal with. the snow piling up, stacked around the city. boston has seen 104.4 inches of snow this season. that's only 3.5 inches away from the all-time record from boston. they are expected to get even more snow this week. steve said they will break the record. they are expecting up to 8 inches in southeastern massachusetts and rhode island. the east coast weather appears to be affecting flights in and out of the san francisco international airport. online, we found several canceled flights already. yesterday, there were even more cancellations because of the weekend storm on the east coast. right now we're waiting to hear back from the airport to confirm exactly how many cancellations are blaineed on the weather. if you notice gas prices went up a lot over the weekend, you are not imagining things. on friday, gas prices jumped about 20 cents here in california and then kept going up. the current average is 3.39. that's up 2 cents from yesterday. last week, drivers were paying 2.95 a gallon and a month ago, most drivers were paying about a dollar less than they are now. the supply has been drying up since the fire at the exxon fire in torrance in southern california. also the strike at the tesoro refinery in torrance. law makes plan -- lawmakers plan to hold hearings on this. to show you how much more we're paying here compared to the rest of the are nation, you can see california in red. that means gas prices are more than $3 a gallon where it's red. in the states where it's yellow, drivers are paying 2.50 and less and the green states, kind of in the middle of the country paying less than $2 a gallon to fill up. it would be nice. drivers in san francisco paying about 3.44 to fill up n san jose, it's costing 3.36. oakland drivers are paying 3.34. >> you found a place around 3? >> 3.09, the span this morning. finally taking a look at 280 and 880 in the south bay, not too bad as well. there is that sig-alert, though, at 101 and 6 -- 101 and 880 overturned tractor truck. crews are still working to clear that scene. back to the desk. >> thank you. police in livermore, investigating that city's first homicide of the year. two young men in their 20s were killed. katie utehs joining us live. you are at the livermore police headquarters now and investigators are planning to give us an update in about a half-hour. >> reporter: they are planning a full press conference. about a half-hour ago, they sent out an e-mail update saying that the man that was detained last night has been arrested it's a small update but a positive development in this investigation. they say that man is in his late 20s. here's what we know so far -- the shooting happened last night around 4:30 in the north side of the city near altamont creek and winding stream drive. livermore police say three men got into and a verbal argument and someone called 911. officers arrived and found two men shot and lying in a grass strip across the street from the park. one of the men had already died. the second man died at the hospital. the shooter sped away in a vehicle. the neighborhood said the -- neighbors said the neighborhood is safe. but some have noticed some activity. >> personally, i see some cars here and they go to a house and leave quickly. >> these people knew each other. we know that. it is an isolated incident. it sounds like something occurred between them that we're trying to figure out. >> you can see an officer recover a gun in what appears to be evidence collected at the scene. around 9:00 last night, officers received a tip as for the possible shooter's location, they then arrested a man near the spring town golf course but would not release any additional details. a friend of the victims arrived on scene this morning. he says there are both in their early -- they are both in their early 20s and one of them a young father. police having an update at 9:00 a.m. we may learn the identity of the victims and the identify of the suspect. we'll keep you updated. >> katie u tus, we'll talk to you -- utehs, we'll talk to you later. a 27-year-old man is waiting to be extradited from arizona to sonoma county to face charges in the brutal killing of an 84-year-old woman in pengrove. victor silva is one of two men arrested over the weekend in connection with the death of olga. silva was arrested during a wild police chase from riverside county to arizona. investigators say he was with an unidentified woman. the chase reads speeds of 130 miles an hour. police say the two also fired shots at other cars and even fired shots at an officer putting down spike strips. when the two suspects crashed, investigators say the woman pulled out a gun and police officers shot and killed her. on saturday, deputies also arrested 27-year-old john martinez in richmond without incident. olga lived with her brother, larry, on a ten-acre ranch in the quiet sonoma county town of pengrove. last thursday, she was found dead inside the home. it had been totally ransacked. her brother was visiting friends for his 75th birthday when his sister was killed. now, larry told ktvu the two of them had little value inside their 100-year-old farmhouse. >> there was nothing here. no reason to kill somebody. >> it doesn't make sense. yeah. it -- the whole thing doesn't make sense. >> my sister was a saint. couldn't ask for a better woman. >> her brother said olga was vibrant, healthy at the ing of 84 and -- at the age of 84 and enjoyed going to church. he described her as a giving -- as a giving person. police in palo alto have released this sketch. this man is wanted for a recent indecent exposure incident. they are not sure if this case is related to four other cases reported in the city in october. the latest one happened last sunday afternoon. an 11-year-old girl said she was walking her dog at el dorado avenue and walked by a man naked from the waist down sitting in a r cast. he's described as beating in his mid-30s to mid-40s. he was driving a newer model black hatchback. it had tinted rear windows. 8:37. starting today, thousands of people in oakland are getting a raise. but ktvu's fox's 2 pam cook has more in the studio about why you could be paying for it. >> the min pum wage in oakland -- minimum wage in oakland goes up. prices elsewhere could go up. because of a proposition passed in november, the minimum wage in oakland goes from $9 to 12.25. 48,000 people will get a bigger paycheck. but it also means the cost of doing business goes up. and many business owners we spoke to say they will have to pass that cost along to their customers. however, this morning, most people seem to agree with the need for the raise. >> i think that's a great thing. you know, living in the bay area is quite expensive. >> i don't think it will any higher because of small businesses like myself. it will put a strain at far as making profits. >> we've heard from restaurants that plan to raise prices on the menu but customers will be told they no longer have to leave tips. the pay increase also applies to part-time workers for the city of oakland. it will cost the city as well. but oakland, one of several cities across the united states raising the minimum wage. uber is the latest company reporting being a victim of hackers. company said there was a cyberattack on the databases of 50,000 current and former drivers. nearly half of those drivers are california. they discovered the problem in september but the actual break- in happened last may, about ten months ago. the company has no report of data being misused. uber says it's contacting the affected drivers and offering them one year of free identity monitoring services. >> all right. 8:39. well, still ahead, the california republican party made history. the group president obama. 8:43. the justice department could release a highly critical report this week accusing police in ferguson, missouri of racial discrimination. the investigation was launched after a white police officer shot and killed unarmed black teenager michael brown. according to the new york times, the report accuses the ferguson, police department of disproportionately issuing traffic citations to african- americans and relying on those fines to fill holes in the city's budget. the city will have to negotiate a settlement with the just is -- justice department or face being sued on civil rights charges. in a separate investigation, they are expected to clear officer darren wilson in the shooting death of michael brown. los angeles police say a struggle over a gun led them to shoot a kill a home las man. a -- homeless man. in the background, you see several officers surrounding the man. police say they were responding to a robbery call around noon in downtown l.a. they went to question the man when he refused to cooperate, they used a stun gun on him. that's when police say the man grabbed the officer's gun. >> i had my phone out p vooing the whole thing and the officer hollered, he's going for my gun! after that -- but he is on the ground, though. >> some are questioning the use of deadly force in this case. police are talking with witnesses and searching for surveillance video to help them in the investigation. 8:45. the california republican party made history over the weekend. they recognized a major republican gay organization. in a formal vote, the log cabin returns received official recognition at the convention in sacramento. that vote was 861-293. they've tried unsuccessfully for years to great recognition. they say the vote this time around shows a changing republican party. >> 75% of the delegates of the california republican party affirmed inclusion is the way we win elections in california. >> so that vote means for the first time ever gay republicans are willfully welcomed to organize and recruit new members to the party. >> more parenting are asking doctors to delay giving vaccines to their young children. some parents want to smar their kids getting -- spare their kids getting jabbed so many times at one sessions. most doctors say delaying the vaccinations puts kids at risk of getting diseases that can be prevented let's take a look at the maps. the carquinez bridge to the macarthur maze, the road sensors say 69 minutes. if you look at the camera, this the eastshore freeway, it doesn't paint the right picture. north of here is where the major problem is, we'll talk more about that in just a moment. moving on the maps, sig-alert remains in effect, southbound 101 near 880, this was a severe traffic alert, a sig-alert. this was an overturned tractor- trailer injury accident. lanes are blocked and will be there for quite some time until they clear the scene. be aware of that. as we take a look at 580 and the livermore valley, that was a problem this morning looking better but this is the major problem as we talked about westbound 80 past el sobrante, traffic starting to build up from highway 4. this was a high- speed pursuit of a stolen car. that car crashed. but again, really slow traffic from hercules all the wray down. really -- way down really from el cerrito. san mateo bridge, traffic remains pretty heavy as you approach the high rise into foster city. it's been like that for a couple of hours now. finally, taking a look at 880 past -- here in oakland, past the coliseum and oracle arena, things not looks too bad -- looking too bad. here's steve. >> mostly cloudy skies. a little breezy here. our low coming down the coast. responsible for the cloud cover and maybe a little bit of rain. most of in is offshore -- moment of it is offshore. southern california, really good rain. thunderstorms down there. maybe fun. clouds off l.a. and san diego. there's the system. it's trying to get along the coast, peninsula down to santa cruz and also monterey. that looks to be the best bet. mostly cloudy. reports of some very light rain. there is a little bit here. a little cell coming california has plenty to work with. been good rainfall totals down there. there is our little low, it's like sonoma marin coast t will spin in a few snowshowers up in the sierra nevada. they had one that tonight. but council members are expected do decide if the city should publicly oppose a plan to add fluoride to the water. hyundai is recalling 263,000 cars for problems with their power steering systems. the recall affects the elantra sedans. it includes cars from the 2008 through 2010 model years. hyundai says an electronic sensor in the cars can malfunction and disable the power steering system. that means the drivers would have to steer manually. hyundai says no accidents or injuries related to the problem have been reported. the carmaker is notifying owners of affected cars and dealers will fix the problem for free. samsung will soon offer new two galaxy smartphones and they will be on sale april 10th. unlike other galaxy devices, the new phones feature a metal design. both will have 5.1-inch screens for more viewing. they will come in five colors and have multiple storage options ranging from 32 gigabytes to 128 gigabytes. today is the golden anniversary of one of lot of cloud cover. our system is sliding down following more of a westerly path than the system on. weekend which gave a wide variety of weather. it's raining in southern california. a few breaks in the clouds. mostly cloudy. cool today. 60s on the temps. there is the system. you can see a lot of that shower activity is favoring areas in the pacific. here's brian with the traffic. we're off to a decent start this morning. there are some trouble pockets if you will on the traffic look this morning. one of them has to do, westbound 580, the livermore valley. that was moved to the side. the major concern is gonna be this year. this is state route 84. just south of 580. this is a sig-alert with -- affecting both lanes of traffic. there was an overturned car. so a little more police responding to this call. they have blocked both directions on state route 84 this morning. 680 not looking great but that's the best alternative if you are leaded toward calaveras road. the san mateo bridge, traffic is backing up. that traffic backs up to the nimitz freeway. 280 in san jose, also traffic starting to pick up on 101. also on the almaden expressway from blossom hill road to saratoga. back to the desk. >> all right. thank you, brian. police in livermore have detained a man in connection with a shooting death of two other men. it happened yesterday about 4:30 p.m. on altamont creek drive near winding stream drive. police say when they arrived, they found two men who have been shot only one of them was alive. he was taken to a nearby hospital. he died soon after. coming up at 7:30. katie utehs will have a live report in livermore with the latest details on the investigation. all right. well, when the streets are full of potholes, it's the kind of problem that you and i, ever noticed. in the south bay, there is a new report out that finds more than half of the roads are in bad shape. ktvu fox 2's janine de la vega is joining us live in san jose with a huge price tag for mixing those -- fixing those potholes. >> reporter: the city auditor put together a report that found that 60% of the roads here in san jose are so warn out, that expensive repairs are needed. on park avenue, there is a lot of repairs needed. this section has not been maintained since 198 had -- 1984. san jose ranks 9 out of 109 prayer cities. the city audit shows pavement conditions continue to decline more and more and the streets could be falling in the worse condition category. streets need to be maintained every ten years to fix and prevent potholes and cracking. the audit shows the streets received maintenance in the last decade. drivers and cyclists definitely notice it. >> where i've gotten flats have been along those roads. no car flats, just bike roads. i don't drive along those roads. it's terrible. >> reporter: what's it like? >> it's really bumpy. a lot of trucks go down there. >> reporter: the department of transportation estimates it would cost $504 million to fix everything. the auditor is recommending that city officials develop a plan that includes a one-time funding source. that might include going to voters to see how big of a priority this is. the committee will meet to discuss the audit and what's next. in the meantime, dave, this just gonna cost drivers more money because those in the industry say that again it wears out your tires and additional repairs could be needed for your car. >> don't we all know. all right. janine de la vega in san jose, thank you. oakland police are looking at surveillance video that could help them identify who killed a 14-year-old oakland boy on saturday night. ktvu fox 2 reporter tara moriarty is live now at oakland technical school where he was a freshman. good morning, tara. >> reporter: well, good morning. this is the first day back to school for students who lost a fellow classmate over et -- oev over the weekend. we spoke to his uncle. he said his nephew was talented and also doing well in school. he was walking with friends on brack dale and humboldt -- brookdale and humboldt when somebody owned fire. neighbors performed cpr but he died at the hospital. >> the possibility of mistaken identity always exists. the possibility of retaliation always exitists. we're not able to say at that point in the investigation exactly what led up to the shooting. >> detectives are reviewing surveillance to see if it provides any clues. counselors will be on hand at the high school to provide grief counseling. live from oakland, tara moriarty, back to you. repair work is expected to start today in san francisco on a water main that burst yesterday morning. the 12-inch main broke about 8:30 between arlington and san jose avenue. the san joses filled with water and mud and -- streebts filled with water -- the streets filled with mud and water. it was closed for several hours as crews cleaned up the mess. the san francisco public utilities commission is investigating the cause of the break. a new report finds a cost of fixing leaks on the new eastern span of the bay bridge has now topped $1 million. the chronicle says it obtained documents shows engineers decided to eliminate a backup drainage system on the bridge. aid cording to the report, that change allowed water to leak into the support structure. the chronicle also says that although caltrans has spent $1.4 million trying to fix the leaks, the problem continues. 7:07. after a 12-hour search, police in hayward arrested a man who they believe fired shots at a police officer. the 27-year-old man was arrested yesterday afternoon. authorities say he fired thoughts at an officer near winton avenue and soto road after a traffic stop at:00 a.m. the suspect pulled over, got out of the car, fired at the officer and ran away. the officer was not hit and did fire back. a woman who lives in the area said she was forced to leave her house as police searched for the gunman. >> they were like, you need to get out now. i said i have a new-born baby. i need to grab pampers or whatever. you need to get out. they had rifles in their hand. we had no choice but to leave. >> the suspect was tracked down on d street. police say he may be linked to another shooting in hayward saturday night. 7:08. march kicking off with some intense winter weather that could break the snowfall record. in fact, take a look. can you imagine having to deal with that snow? piles of snow stacked up all over the city. boston has already seen 104 inches. that's only 3.5 inches away from their all-time record. area is expected to get more snow and up to 8 inches is expected to fall in southeastern massachusetts and rhode island. meanwhile, the mayor of boston is putting a stop to people claiming stakes in parking spots in the midst blizzards. some people have been carving out parking spots and inserting space savers. the mayor says crews have worked to remove much of the snow and it's no longer necessary to hold spots. they do this in danville trying to save your spot there. the weather also appears to be affecting flights in and out of the san francisco international airport. online, we found the number of canceled flights. yesterday there were more cancellations due to the weekend storm on the east coast. right now we're waiting to hear back from the airport to confirm how many cancellations are due to the weather. dave? >> all right. 7 o 09. mang -- 7:09. another major attack hack. this time affecting uber. the information the thieves may have gotten away with. but first, gasoline prices, you've seen them going up, up almost a dollar over the past month. how california compares to other states and why you drivers won't be getting a break any time soon. well, good morning, everybody. we're keeping an eye on our traffic as well this morning going into the heart of the morning commute. taking a look at the east bay as well as the east shore. we'll have an update coming up. a lot of cloud cover over us. another system coming down the coast. this one showing most of the energy off the coast. it listen a cloudy day -- it will be a cloudy day. we'll see if there's any rain there. welcome back. time is 7:12. look at that. a dramatic midair rescue in australia caught on camera. it happened during this sky driving training course in november. 22-year-old christopher jones jumped out of the plane. looked like he was enjoying himself. but watch closely. less than 30 seconds into the jump, he had a seizure in midair. now, luckily, after two attempts his instructor was able to release his parachute. shortly after that, jones came out of his see chur -- seizure. he did land safely. a midair incident temporarily delayed a flight from oakland to mama -- maui. the hawaiian airlines flight was still gaining altitude when the plane hit a flock of sandpiper birds. the pilot told passengers what was happening and as a precaution, he turned around and went back to oakland airport. >> any type of bird strike is a serious event. you want to check out any type of damage to the control service, enjen before you go on -- engine before you go on. >> the flight did resume. passengers made it to safe to maui. they are investigating the cause of what happened and where the birds may have been heading. well, i filled up my car and you probably noticed like me that gas prices went up. on friday, gas prices jumped 20 cents in california. the current average for regular unleaded is 3.39 in california. that's up 2 cents from yesterday. last week, drivers were paying 2.95 a gallon. a month ago. most drivers were paying about a dollar less than they are now. the supply has been drying up since the fire at the exxonmobil refinery in torrance in southern california and also the strike at the tesoro refinery in martinez. state lawmakers plan to hold a series of hearings on the gas shortage starting this week. now, to show you how much more we're paying for gas here in california compared to the rest of the nation, take a look at this map. you can see california completely in red. that means gas prices are more than $3 a gallon. pretty much on the west coast. that's the case. all of the states in yellow kind of in the northern part of the country and over on the east coast, that's where you are paying about 2.50 or less and the green states, especially up there down in the san francisco area, that's where folks are paying less than $2 a gal on fill up -- gallon to fill out. drivers in san francisco are paying 3.44 to fill up. and in san jose, it's costing 3.36 and in oakland, drivers are paying about 3.34. dave, i pulled over. i found a place to pay 3.09. >> wow, tori, i have to find that place. hewlett-packard just announced its biggest deal in several years. it will pay 2.7 billion for aruba networks of sunnyvale. now, hp says this deal will boost its commercial technology business as it's getting ready to split into two different businesses. aruba makes wi-fi networks for shopping malls, hotels and universities. well, google wants to show you what it's like to soar through the trees in the amazon jungle. the street through option and google maps mostly gives you a panoramic view of cities and neighborhoods. but google has found a creative wray to show ex -- way to show exotic places. they are teaming up to show an amazon rain forest in brazil. it carry as camera on a zipline through those trees in the jungle. let's check in with brian flores. as we've mentioned, brian is in for sal today for a very special injuries northbound 680 south of east capitol expressway. the right shoulder is affected there and then also there is an accident on 87 northbound, north of airport parkway right shoulder also blocked there. the major problem, though, is gonna be state route 84 near vineyard. there is a sig-alert still in effect this morning. this is an overturned pickup truck. it's backing up traffic along 84 their morning, especially in the southbound direction. so the alternate would be 680 as you can see, it's red there also. be patient. 580 backed up as well just from typical traffic as you would see on a monday morning. taking a look at the bay bridge toll plaza, solid backup in the cash lanes. it has started to pick up now along interstate 80 from the carquinez bridge to the macarthur maze, at least 34 minutes to get you from that point, again, to the mac maze and you tack on another 20, 25 minutes to get you across the span. 880 in oakland, past the coliseum and oracle arena, things are looking okay for this monday morning. here's steve. thank you, brian. we have another system. this one is favoring areas closer to the coast of the not so much inland. only a little bit of snow for the sierra nevada. not one to two feet. but maybe one to two inches. more cloud cover. probably not the dynamics associated with the one on saturday. that was more cold air associated with it. you got the thunderstorms and the hail for some. not for all. producing rain down in southern california. there are some breaks in the clouds. but look for a mostly cloudy, cool day. a few scattered showers stories -- police are looking at surveillance video to help them figure out who shot and killed a 14-year-old boy. he was walking on humboldt when he was shot. investigators are still trying to find a possible motive and say this could be a result of mistaken identity. a new report finds 60% of the streets in san jose are so badly in shape, repairs are needed. the audit is blaming insufficient funding for the problem. only 38% of san jose streets actually get any kind of complaint ents. the department of transportation estimates it would cost $504 million to fix those roads. and the stormy weather on the east coast is affecting flights in and out of san francisco international airport. online, we have a list of about 10 flights that have already been canceled today. let's go to tori and say in the traffic world. taking a look at the san mateo bridge as you approach the high rise, pretty heavy backup into foster city. i'm not seeing any major reasons why. the only thing being reported, is there a paint can in the number one lane. it's hard to believe there would be that. if you are headed toward the san mateo bridge toward foster city. be aware of that. major backup. it goes all the way up the nimitz freeway. let's go to the sunol grade camera. this looks great. the reason i bring this up, this is the part where you are home free if you get to the sunol grade. the major reason why, as we go to the maps, state route 84, that remains a major problem this morning as i mentioned. that's because of an overturned truck. preliminary police -- livermore police responding. this has gotten better within the past five minutes. it's a sig-alert. the last we heard, both directions of 84 are still closed as they work the scene. unclear of the injuries to the truck driver but again livermore police responding to this one. obviously, the alternate would be taking 680 southbound. that's not getting any better as well. there is an accident eastbound 580 west of palo verde road. that appears to be a noninjury accident but 580 just a mess this morning. 7:32. here's dave. >> okay. thank you. police in livermore investigating a deadly shooting where two young men were killed. it's livermore's first homicide in that city since 2012. ktvu fox 2's katie utehs is in livermore right now and you just talked to a neighbor who saw that shooting. katie? >> reporter: well, dave, her dog sensed something was going on when the men were arguing and began to bark. she came outside and said the shooting happened in this stretch of grass which is behind the park. >> we livard the corner and heard -- live around the corner and heard the loud pop. we were getting in our car to go the grocery store. i looked to the side and insaw our neighbor -- and i saw our neighbor helping someone. i just saw someone laying in the grass. >> reporter: the shooting happened around 4:30 last night in the north side of the city, where near altamont creek and winding stream drive, and police say three men got into and a verbal argument -- into and a verbal argument. a friend of the victim arrived this morning to pay his respects and was still shaken by the news. >> strage tragedy, you no he -- tragedy, you know. violence needs to stop. whether, you know, too many -- too many guns. >> at this point, we believe it's one suspect and it was -- that they knew each other. what the relationship is we don't know for sure. >> reporter: in this video, you can see an officer recover a gun in what appears to be evidence from the scene but investigators would not comment at the time around 9:00 last night, officers received a tip as to the possible shooter's location. they detained a man near the springtown golf course but would not release any details. police say this is normally a quiet and safe neighborhood. they are holding a press conference this morning at 9:00 a.m. so at that point, we may learn more details as to if this person was detained is their suspect. >> thank you for the live report. 27-year-old man is wait be to be extradited from arizona to sonoma county to face charges in the brutal killing of an 84-year-old woman in pengrove. victor silva of ma rain county is -- marin county is one of two men arrested over weekend in connection with the woman's death. silva was arrested during a wild police chase from riverside county to arizona. investigators say he was with an unidentified woman. officers say the two fired shots at other cars and even fired at an officer putting down spike strips. when the two suspects crashed, investigators say the woman pulled out a gun and officers shot and killed her. on saturday, up dos arrested 27- year-old john martinez in rich -- deputies arrested 27-year- old john martinez in richmond. she lived in pengrove with her brother. last thursday, she was found dead inside the home which had been ransacked. her brother was visiting friends for his 75th birthday when his sister was killed. he tells ktvu the two had little value inside their farmhouse. >> there was nothing here. no reason to kill somebody. >> it doesn't make sense. yeah, it -- the whole thing doesn't make sense. >> my sister was a saint. i mean, couldn't ask for a better woman. >> her brother says olga was vibrant and healthy at the age of 84 and he enjoyed going out for church and shopping. he describes her as a giving person who still had a lot to offer. san francisco police will hold a town hall meeting tonight about the shooting in the mission district. it happened thursday night when two plain clothes officers responded to reports about a man with a life at 24th and folsom. they say a man was trying to steal another man's bike. reported the officers told the man to drop the knife but he refused. that's when he was shot and killed. the town hall meeting starts tonight at 6:00 at cesar chavez elementary. the justice department may release a report accusing police in ferguson, missouri of racial discrimination. the investigation was launched after a white police officer shot and killed michael brown. according to the new york times, the report accuses the ferguson -- accuses the ferguson police of issuing citations and relying on those fines to fill holes in the city's budget. now, in a separate investigation, the department of justice is also expected to clear ferguson police officer darren wilson of civil rights violations in the shooting death. michael brown. that report is also expected to be released soon. police in los angeles say a struggle over a gun led their officers to shoot and kill a homeless man. now, a bystander posted this video of the confrontation that was taken in the cell phone camera in the background. you see the officers surroundth man. he's down on the -- surrounding the man. he's down on the ground. police were responding to a robbery call in downtown l.a. they say they went to question the man. when he couldn't cooperate, they used a stun gun. that's when police say the man grabbed a police officer's gun. >> i had my phone out, videotaping the whole thing. and -- the officer hollered -- hollered, he's going for my gun! he's on the ground. >> some are questioning deadly force. police are talking with witnesses and are also searching for more surveillance video to help them in the investigation. an nfl player has been arrested in vacaville according to several reports. jared bush was arrested yesterday for public intoxication. we have no other details at this point. jared bush who is from vacaville was released from jail and has been with the packers since 2006. benjamin net netanyahu is speaking this morning and he said his intention is not to get involved in american partisan politics. >> the last thing that anyone cares about israel, the last thing i would want is for israel to become a partisan issue. i regret that some people have misperceived my visit here of doing that. >> he was invited by the republican speaker of the house, john boehner, who did not consult with the white house and that's not the usual blow toe cobble -- protocol. but he said his speech before congress is not meant to show disrespect for president obama. he will be talking to congress about the iran nuclear talks. this morning he said such a deal could threaten the survival of israel. the department of homeland security is headed for a partial shutdown unless congress can make another deal by the end of in week. on friday, the house passed a one-week stop gap measure just hours before funding would have run out. now the senate is set to take a procedural vote today on whether to negotiate with the house on a funding bill that would also roll back president obama's expect disk orders on immigration -- executive orders on immigration. senate democrats say that will not happen. some republicans are saying the stubbornness of conservatives in both houses threatens to hurt the republican party. >> i share their view that the executive orders are illegal, unconstitutional but they are not the votes in the senate to defund the executive orders. >> now, republican senator lindsey graham is advising a victim of hackers. the company says there was a cyberattack on its database of 50,000 current and former drivers. nearly half of those drivers are in california. uber says they discovered the problem in september but the actual break-in happened last may. the company says it has no report of data being misused. uber is contacting affected drivers and offering them one year of free identity monitoring services. an attempted breach at the white house late last night and another this morning. at 8:00, the incidents that have them on high alert. a big pay increase for people in one bay area from $9 to 12.25. many small businesses say they will have to raise prices and that cudz -- that includes some restaurants. we spoke to the owner of one who said they will balance that out with a change to a no- tipping policy. he says that makes more sense for consumers anyway. >> you don't go into a dry cleaners an give an extra 20%. you don't go to the grocery store and tip the ka sheer -- up their snow making operations. there is a chance for more snow today. starting tomorrow it will warm up again. 7:55. palo alto police released a sketch of a man wanted in connection with a recent intee sent exposure incident -- indecent exposure incident. investigators don't foe if this is linked to other cases reported in -- don't know if this is linked to other cases reported. a woman said she walked by a man naked in his car. he's described as being in his mid-30s, mid-40s with a medium built, short dark hair hand a goatee. he was driving a hatchback with tinted windows. hyundai is recalling 263,000 cars for problems with their power steering systems. the recall fearkts the el -- affects the elantra, the 2008 through 2010 model years. it can dysfunction and disable the power system. the drivers would have to steer manually. hyundai says no accidents or injuries related to the problem have been reported. the carmaker is notifying owners of affected cars and dealers will fix the problem for free. sam stung has announced it will -- samsung will offer two new smartphones. they will be on sale april 10th. the new phones will feature ta metal design -- a metal tee sign. both will have 5.1-inch screens and they will come if five cars colors and have multiple storage options ranging from 32 gigabytes to 128 gigabytes. it's a rough road for one bay area city. they are crumbling to the bottom of the bay area ranking. after the break, startling new report regarding roads in san jose and the costly effort it will take to make things better. oakland police are still just a freshman. >> reporter: that's the part that's particularly disturbing to parents and students here at oakland tech high school, that we've been able to talk to. even the chief of police denounced the killings saying all violent crime is tragic. his uncle says his nephew was a talented athlete and was doing very well in school. police say that he was walking with friends on brookdale and humboldt saturday night in the fruitvale neighborhood before 8:00 at night, when someone opened fire. >> i didn't know him personally but i did see him around the campus at times and stuff. >> were you shocked he was shot and killed? >> i was shocked. i think it's crazy that people are continuing and continuing to get killed and i just don't think it's right and i think it needs to be stopped. >> it's sad for people, let alone being black, don't even get to live to be 16. i think it's sad. >> reporter: neighbors say they heard the shots and did what they could to comfort devon. emergency crews performed cpr but he died at the hospital. d.c.s are -- detectives are reviewing surveillance. counselors will be at the high school to provide counseling. back to you. >> thank you. 8:04. police in livermore have detained a man in connection with the shooting deaths of two other men in a quiet neighborhood. it happened yesterday about 4:30 p.m. on altamont creek drive near winding stream drive. when police arrived, two men were shot. only one was alive. he was taken to a nearby hospital but died soon after. coming up at 8:30, katie utehs will have a live report in livermore with the latest details on the investigation. 8:04. drivers in san jose feel every bump, pothole and crack in the city roads. there is a new report detailing how bad the roads are and how much they need repairs. janine de la vega joining us live now in san jose with more about the report and what's being done. >> reporter: we're here on park avenue where you can see a lot of cracks and divits in the road. this section has not been maintained since 1984. a report out says that 60% of the streets here in san jose are so worn out that expensive repairs are needed. industry experts say the roads need to be repaired ten years. but the audit shows they've never met the goal due to insufficient funding. motorists drives on worn roads face higher costs because of the incleared tire wear, higher fuel consumption and repairs needed. transportation researchers estimated it could cost residents $760 a year. one cyclist says he's gotten numerous flats. >> those seem sob terrible roads for the -- seem to be terrible roads for the last four years. >> the department of transportation estimates it would cost $504 million to make the repairs needed now. san jose relies on state gas taxes and county vehicle registration fees but the auditor says that's not enough. the auditor is recommending that the officials develop a plan that includes a one-time funding source. that could mean going to voters to see if they would approve a sales tax measure. a committee is going to meet later today to discuss this and figure out some possible solutions. >> it's a big deal. yeah. thank you. we'll talk to you later. san francisco fire crews are mopping up after an early- morning fire in the portola neighborhood. it happened year at this house on felton street near oxford. the firefighters aggressively attacked the flames in the garage. it took firefighters about 30 minutes to get it under control. luckily no one was hurt. but people who live in that basement unit, they were displaced. the cause of the fire is still not known. repair work is expected to start today in san francisco on a water main that burst yesterday morning. it was a 12-inch water main, broke about 8:30 yesterday morning on roanoke street. the streets filled with water and mud. that water flow disrupted service on muni's j church line. westbound san jose avenue, it was closed for several hours as the crews were out there cleaning up the mess. >> like a waterfall or something. like a raging -- it undermined the earth, as you can see, from over there. so all of that -- all of that dirt and water forced all of that earth to be pushed this way. >> no one lost their water service in the area. the san francisco public utilities commission is investigating the cause of that water main break. a new report finds the cost for fixing leaks on the eastern span of the bay bridge has now topped $1 million. the chronicle obtains documents showing engineers decided to obtain a backup drainage system and that change allowed water to leak into the support structure, according to the report. they also say they've used 1.4 million of toll plaza money to fix the leaks leaks and the problem -- fix the leaks and the problem continues. here's some video. look at this. tori -- >> wow. >> too much. this is an idea of what the people in boston have had to deal with. the snow piling up, stacked around the city. boston has seen 104.4 inches of snow this season. that's only 3.5 inches away from the all-time record from boston. they are expected to get even more snow this week. steve said they will break the record. they are expecting up to 8 inches in southeastern massachusetts and rhode island. the east coast weather appears to be affecting flights in and out of the san francisco international airport. online, we found several canceled flights already. yesterday, there were even more cancellations because of the weekend storm on the east coast. right now we're waiting to hear back from the airport to confirm exactly how many cancellations are blaineed on the weather. if you notice gas prices went up a lot over the weekend, you are not imagining things. on friday, gas prices jumped about 20 cents here in california and then kept going up. the current average is 3.39. that's up 2 cents from yesterday. last week, drivers were paying 2.95 a gallon and a month ago, most drivers were paying about a dollar less than they are now. the supply has been drying up since the fire at the exxon fire in torrance in southern california. also the strike at the tesoro refinery in torrance. law makes plan -- lawmakers plan to hold hearings on this. to show you how much more we're paying here compared to the rest of the are nation, you can see california in red. that means gas prices are more than $3 a gallon where it's red. in the states where it's yellow, drivers are paying 2.50 and less and the green states, kind of in the middle of the country paying less than $2 a gallon to fill up. it would be nice. drivers in san francisco paying about 3.44 to fill up n san jose, it's costing 3.36. oakland drivers are paying 3.34. >> you found a place around 3? >> 3.09, yes, i paid in danville. hewlett-packard announced it's made its biggest teal since meg whitman launched a turnaround at the company. hp will pay about $2.7 billion for aruba networks of sunnyvale. any make wireless networking systems for universities, corporate campuses, shopping malls and hotels. hp based in palo alto is preparing to split in two. hp says this deal will boost the new company traffic starting to pick up. we're taking a look at the east bay. you are looking at highway 24 toward la fayette. another system dropping down. unfortunately, it looks like it will do more for central and southern california. but mostly cloudy. where is the rain, though? isis supporters are threatening the company's founder after twitter shut down accounts promoting the terrorist organization. an online posts, isis supporters around the world are threatening to attack jacker tocy and his -- jack dorie and his employees. isis has been shut -- shut down. two men arrested accused of trying to break into the white house grounds in two separate incidents. the secret service says the first breach happened last night. a man tried to get on the white house ground by climbing over a bike rack. then a man tried to sneak into a white house entrance when someone was leaving with an unauthorized pass. that caused a temporary lockdown. britain's prince william toured beijing's forbidden city today. it's the first official visit to mainland china in a generation. the center visited the center of the chinese capitol. he also met with china's president to discuss trade and wildlife preservation. he delivered an invitation to visit britain from his grandmother, queen elizabeth. next he will visit an elephant sanctuary. forbes magazine released a list of the world's richest people of 2013 and some young new billionaires a made the list. bill gates has held that title for 16 of the past 21 years. mark zuckerberg has moved up five spots to number 16. it's the first time he's ranked among the top 20. some of the newer names include founder evan spiegel. the co-founders of uber and elizabeth holmes. holmes runs a blood testing company. it's the youngest self-made woman at the age of 31 to make that list. here is a recap. here is a look at who made the top five. bill gates comes in at number one, carlos slim came in at number two. number three, warren buffett, and take a look at it. this -- maps and take a look at this. you see a couple of accident icons. the one to the left is a noninjury accident. that's on 87 northbound, north of airport parkway in san jose. that scene has moveled to the right shoulder. the -- moved to the right shoulder. this is a sig-alert right now. this is an overturned furniture truck. it was on its side. it has some injuries to it. again, 101 southbound near 880 south and san jose. the right lanes are blocked. chp saying if you could use some alternative routes this morning, that would be the best thing right now. but again, 101 southbound near 880. highway 4, we haven't talked about that commute. things are looking great through the pittsburg/baypoint area. starting to get busy to 680 and then slow and go if you are headed toward highway 24 toward the caldecott. finally the san mateo bridge, still backed up as you approach the high rise into foster city. that's been like that throughout most of the morning. if you are heading southbound -- solvery, westbound on 80, past hercules, i just checked on the road sensors, 78 minutes from the carquinez bridge to the macarthur maze. that's because of an accident there as well. we'll be keeping an eye on that this morning. here's steve. we have a lot of cloud cover. a little bit of rain around la honda. it looks like a little line is trying to form on the peninsula. i will show you a closeup view. little low is off cape mendocino. it's hugging the coast. it may swing in shower activity. there's plenty to go around. not a lot right here. but a line around the peninsula. stanford, highway 9. santa cruz mountains. maybe skyline as well. could get some. there's some offshore. it's raining from fresno to bakersfield and heading into the high desert. there is a lot of rain in southern california. 40s and 50s on our temps. they've been stuck most of the morning here. here is our system. a lot of the energy stays offshore. if we can get that to swing in, all signs point toward that not happening here. rain is on the go in way. it looks like a wash in spring training. this -- cell between long beach and malibu, getting reports that it's lightning and hail there. an active pattern in southern california. there is the low. it is moving fast but it will be with us today. sierra nevada will get some snow, a couple of inches probably at best. nothing compared to the weekend which was one to two feet. truckee 19. blue canyon, 32. that no he is very welcomed -- that snow is very welcomed. they will take a couple of inches today. our system will go right down the coast, today's cloudy to mostly cloudy. a little bit of snow on the sierra. scattered showers here. occasionally could pick up some brief, heavy rain or a thundershower but most of the energy looks to be offshore. the extended outlook, wednesday, thursday. that will take us into the weekend where it lox sunny, mostly sunny to cloudy. cooler, possibility of scattered showers. a lot of it seems to be east and south. high temperatures today, all pretty close. low 60s to mid-60s. it doesn't matter if it's clearlake, brentwood, walnut creek, 6, 64 even down to the santa clara valley. 50s, 60s on the coast. 60s on the peninsula and after tomorrow, it looks like the low goes south. mostly sunny on wednesday and sunshine and warmer temperatures end of the week ferguson, missouri. coming up in 23 minutes, accusations made by the justice department about the way the police treat african-americans and also how that treatment is used to balance the city's budget. but first, a dramatic midair rescue caught on video. after the break, what turned a routine jump into a near tragic situation for one 22-year-old man. hey. these are good. what have you been wants to show you what it's like to swing through the tree esin the amazon jungle. the street view option in the maps most of the time gives you the cities and neighborhood views but google has found ways to show exotic places with no roads. there seem up with a -- they teamed up with a group to promote part of a rain forest in brazil. they are using a trekker that carries the camera on a zipline going through the trees. you are right there. 8:26. well, they are saying show me the money! the new law taking affect in one bay area city and how thousands of workers are gonna be affected. we're live in livermore where police are expected to give an update this morning regarding a shooting that killed two men. what we've heard from witnesses and police so far. traffic moving slowly but surely on this monday morning. we're keeping aon on things in the east -- keeping an eye on things in the east bay and the south bay. we'll see if this system can produce any rain for us. female narrator: show and go. possibility here, we're definitely in the mix for today. our system is just hugging the coast. most of the energy is offshore. some of that is pushing in on the san mateo, cruz coastline. parts of the peninsula heading to the valley. a closer look in a second. a couple of light showers around la honda. santa cruz coast, that looks to be the best bet. right off san francisco. i heard from my friend, pouring in phoenix. flash flood warnings are out. that's torrential rain for them. somebody is getting good rain. 40s, 50s on the temps. napa was the coolest. if this system took the turn inland, we could get widely scattered showers. a lot of this looks like it's going to go across the coast and follow more towards southern california. there is the low, it will keep us on the cloudy to mostly cloudy side. and light snow in the shear. not like they had -- and light snow in the sierra. not like they had earlier. temperatures, almost 60s for everybody. north bay to the south bay. about 60, 64 degrees. here's brian with an update. on westbound 80, if you are headed in that direction, towards hercules, even toward richmond this morning, again, westbound 80, be careful. it's a mess out there this morning. not a sig-alert but it is a severe traffic accident. westbound 80 near el portal. the right lanes are closed. solid backup really from highway 4 just north of hercules. doesn't even get better until you get to el cerrito. 70 minutes from get you from the bridge to the macarthur maze and because of this spot right here. taking a look at the bay bridge toll plaza this morning. not too bad across the span. you know, if you have fastrack, you get through faster. but from the macarthur maze really to this point is not too bad. about 20, 25 minutes to get you across the span this morning. finally taking a look at 280 and 880 in the south bay, not too bad as well. there is that sig-alert, though, at 101 and 6 -- 101 and 880 overturned tractor truck. crews are still working to clear that scene. back to the desk. >> thank you. police in livermore, investigating that city's first homicide of the year. two young men in their 20s were killed. katie utehs joining us live. you are at the livermore police headquarters now and investigators are planning to give us an update in about a half-hour. >> reporter: they are planning a full press conference. about a half-hour ago, they sent out an e-mail update saying that the man that was detained last night has been arrested it's a small update but a positive development in this investigation. they say that man is in his late 20s. here's what we know so far -- the shooting happened last night around 4:30 in the north side of the city near altamont creek and winding stream drive. livermore police say three men got into and a verbal argument and someone called 911. officers arrived and found two men shot and lying in a grass strip across the street from the park. one of the men had already died. the second man died at the hospital. the shooter sped away in a vehicle. the neighborhood said the -- neighbors said the neighborhood is safe. but some have noticed some activity. >> personally, i see some cars here and they go to a house and leave quickly. >> these people knew each other. we know that. it is an isolated incident. it sounds like something occurred between them that we're trying to figure out. >> you can see an officer recover a gun in what appears to be evidence collected at the scene. around 9:00 last night, officers received a tip as for the possible shooter's location, they then arrested a man near the spring town golf course but would not release any additional details. a friend of the victims arrived on scene this morning. he says there are both in their early -- they are both in their early 20s and one of them a young father. police having an update at 9:00 a.m. we may learn the identity of the victims and the identify of the suspect. we'll keep you updated. >> katie u tus, we'll talk to you -- utehs, we'll talk to you later. a 27-year-old man is waiting to be extradited from arizona to sonoma county to face charges in the brutal killing of an 84-year-old woman in pengrove. victor silva is one of two men arrested over the weekend in connection with the death of olga. silva was arrested during a wild police chase from riverside county to arizona. investigators say he was with an unidentified woman. the chase reads speeds of 130 miles an hour. police say the two also fired shots at other cars and even fired shots at an officer putting down spike strips. when the two suspects crashed, investigators say the woman pulled out a gun and police officers shot and killed her. on saturday, deputies also arrested 27-year-old john martinez in richmond without incident. olga lived with her brother, larry, on a ten-acre ranch in the quiet sonoma county town of pengrove. last thursday, she was found dead inside the home. it had been totally ransacked. her brother was visiting friends for his 75th birthday when his sister was killed. now, larry told ktvu the two of them had little value inside their 100-year-old farmhouse. >> there was nothing here. no reason to kill somebody. >> it doesn't make sense. yeah. it -- the whole thing doesn't make sense. >> my sister was a saint. couldn't ask for a better woman. >> her brother said olga was vibrant, healthy at the ing of 84 and -- at the age of 84 and enjoyed going to church. he described her as a giving -- as a giving person. police in palo alto have released this sketch. this man is wanted for a recent indecent exposure incident. they are not sure if this case is related to four other cases reported in the city in october. the latest one happened last sunday afternoon. an 11-year-old girl said she was walking her dog at el dorado avenue and walked by a man naked from the waist down sitting in a r cast. he's described as beating in his mid-30s to mid-40s. he was driving a newer model black hatchback. it had tinted rear windows. 8:37. starting today, thousands of people in oakland are getting a raise. but ktvu's fox's 2 pam cook has more in the studio about why you could be paying for it. >> the min pum wage in oakland -- minimum wage in oakland goes up. prices elsewhere could go up. because of a proposition passed in november, the minimum wage in oakland goes from $9 to 12.25. 48,000 people will get a bigger paycheck. but it also means the cost of doing business goes up. and many business owners we spoke to say they will have to pass that cost along to their customers. however, this morning, most people seem to agree with the need for the raise. >> i think that's a great thing. you know, living in the bay area is quite expensive. >> i don't think it will any higher because of small businesses like myself. it will put a strain at far as making profits. >> we've heard from restaurants that plan to raise prices on the menu but customers will be told they no longer have to leave tips. the pay increase also applies to part-time workers for the city of oakland. it will cost the city as well. but oakland, one of several cities across the united states raising the minimum wage. uber is the latest company reporting being a victim of hackers. company said there was a cyberattack on the databases of 50,000 current and former drivers. nearly half of those drivers are california. they discovered the problem in september but the actual break- in happened last may, about ten months ago. the company has no report of data being misused. uber says it's contacting the affected drivers and offering them one year of free identity monitoring services. >> all right. 8:39. well, still ahead, the california republican party made history. the group president obama. 8:43. the justice department could release a highly critical report this week accusing police in ferguson, missouri of racial discrimination. the investigation was launched after a white police officer shot and killed unarmed black teenager michael brown. according to the new york times, the report accuses the ferguson, police department of disproportionately issuing traffic citations to african- americans and relying on those fines to fill holes in the city's budget. the city will have to negotiate a settlement with the just is -- justice department or face being sued on civil rights charges. in a separate investigation, they are expected to clear officer darren wilson in the shooting death of michael brown. los angeles police say a struggle over a gun led them to shoot a kill a home las man. a -- homeless man. in the background, you see several officers surrounding the man. police say they were responding to a robbery call around noon in downtown l.a. they went to question the man when he refused to cooperate, they used a stun gun on him. that's when police say the man grabbed the officer's gun. >> i had my phone out p vooing the whole thing and the officer hollered, he's going for my gun! after that -- but he is on the ground, though. >> some are questioning the use of deadly force in this case. police are talking with witnesses and searching for surveillance video to help them in the investigation. 8:45. the california republican party made history over the weekend. they recognized a major republican gay organization. in a formal vote, the log cabin returns received official recognition at the convention in sacramento. that vote was 861-293. they've tried unsuccessfully for years to great recognition. they say the vote this time around shows a changing republican party. >> 75% of the delegates of the california republican party affirmed inclusion is the way we win elections in california. >> so that vote means for the first time ever gay republicans are willfully welcomed to organize and recruit new members to the party. >> more parenting are asking doctors to delay giving vaccines to their young children. some parents want to smar their kids getting -- spare their kids getting jabbed so many times at one sessions. most doctors say delaying the vaccinations puts kids at risk of getting diseases that can be prevented by the shots and it increases the chances for an outbreak like the recent lun with measles -- one are measles. zbles. >> that's a tricky one. >> yeah. let's check back with brian. you are in for sal. you've got your hands full this morning. this has been a rough commute. >> yes, i do, actually. good morning, everybody. it's been a rough commute especially on westbound 80. let's talk about that. let's take a look at the maps. the carquinez bridge to the macarthur maze, the road sensors say 69 minutes. if you look at the camera, this the eastshore freeway, it doesn't paint the right picture. north of here is where the major problem is, we'll talk more about that in just a moment. moving on the maps, sig-alert remains in effect, southbound 101 near 880, this was a severe traffic alert, a sig-alert. this was an overturned tractor- trailer injury accident. lanes are blocked and will be there for quite some time until they clear the scene. be aware of that. as we take a look at 580 and the livermore valley, that was a problem this morning looking better but this is the major problem as we talked about westbound 80 past el sobrante, traffic starting to build up from highway 4. this was a high- speed pursuit of a stolen car. that car crashed. but again, really slow traffic from hercules all the wray down. really -- way down really from el cerrito. san mateo bridge, traffic remains pretty heavy as you approach the high rise into foster city. it's been like that for a couple of hours now. finally, taking a look at 880 past -- here in oakland, past the coliseum and oracle arena, things not looks too bad -- looking too bad. here's steve. >> mostly cloudy skies. a little breezy here. our low coming down the coast. responsible for the cloud cover and maybe a little bit of rain. most of in is offshore -- moment of it is offshore. southern california, really good rain. thunderstorms down there. maybe fun. clouds off l.a. and san diego. there's the system. it's trying to get along the coast, peninsula down to santa cruz and also monterey. that looks to be the best bet. mostly cloudy. reports of some very light rain. there is a little bit here. a little cell coming onshore. maybe another round of thunderstorms like pacifica and daly city. southern california is lit up and rain is torrential. into phoenix. that's a pretty good line moving in through there. 50s on most of the temps. upper 50s and 60s. if we can get the low widely scattered showers. probably favoring areas to the south more than the north and east. but a lot of cloud cover, you can see southern california has plenty to work with. been good rainfall totals down there. there is our little low, it's like sonoma marin coast t will spin in a few snowshowers up in the sierra nevada. they had one to two feet over the weekend. mostly cloudy, cooler. scattered showers again today. a little breezy. blustery at times. upper 50s. low to mid-60s. temperatures very close. this is probably one of the cooler days of the week. a decent breeze for parts of the bay. low to mid-60s. east bay. same can be said for the south bay. a little better opportunity for rain there. the peninsula. into the santa stages of considering rent control. now, the board may form a task force to study the county's housing problem which may include pudding restrictions on raising went -- putting restrictions on raising rents. leaders are seeing an affordable rising crisis. the sonoma county city council is also tackling rent control as well as two other trofnl issues. at tonight eight meeting they will talk about rent control, leaf blowers. those leaf blowers were almost banned about a year ago but at the last minute, the then-mayor reversed his vote. rent control is a heated topic. no decision is expected on that tonight. but council members are expected do decide if the city should publicly oppose a plan to add fluoride to the water. hyundai is recalling 263,000 cars for problems with their power steering systems. the recall affects the elantra sedans. it includes cars from the 2008 through 2010 model years. hyundai says an electronic sensor in the cars can malfunction and disable the power steering system. that means the drivers would have to steer manually. hyundai says no accidents or injuries related to the problem have been reported. the carmaker is notifying owners of affected cars and dealers will fix the problem for free. samsung will soon offer new two galaxy smartphones and they will be on sale april 10th. unlike other galaxy devices, the new phones feature a metal design. both will have 5.1-inch screens for more viewing. they will come in five colors and have multiple storage options ranging from 32 gigabytes to 128 gigabytes. today is the golden anniversary of one of
