(lavoy finicum/protes ter) "honestly, there are things more important than your life, and freedom is one of them." oregon protester lavoy finicum -- telling n-b-c news that he would rather die than be arrested... tuesday night, finicum was killed... ...as authorities arrested protest leader ammon bundy and several members of the armed group occupying the malheur national wildlife refuge officials say it started with a traffic stop, and that finicum and bundy's brother - ryan - refused to surrender. the bundy ranch claimed on facebook that finicum "had his hands up and was shot 3 times." officials.. haven't commented much beyond saying it's not clear who fired first. ryan bundy suffered minor injuries -- finicum died at the scene. he had been one of the most outspoken members of the armed group... ...that took over the refuge earlier this month to protest federal land policies. "hello america, this is lavoy going anywhere. we're here to do a job." tuesday's incident ended with ammon and ryan bundy and three followers in conspiracy charges. three other activists were arrested two people were killed and three others were injured when a shooting took place at a homeless camp in washington late last night. officers responded to a call of shots fired at a homeless encampment in seattle known as 'the jungle.' one victim was pronounced dead on the scene and four others were taken to a local hospital where a second victim died. officials say they are searching for two people of interest. the police chief says she believes the shooting was not random. seattle's mayor has been under recent pressure to deal with the homeless problem in seattle. a fourth teenager involved in a stanton county, nebraska animal cruelty case has admitted his involvement. the teen admitted responsibility to two allegations of animal cruelty. the deptuty stanton county attorney says the teen was involved in the tourture and killing of a cat and an opposum on two separate occasions. the teen was 14 at the time. three other teens have admitted their involvement in the case. a member of the stanton county school board has pleaded not guilty to six counts related to kirk van pelt faces two counts of animal cruelty and four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. a sioux city man has pleaded not guilty to stealing from a sporting goods store earlier this month. according to authorities, 21-year-old clinton gant tried to steal 900-dollars worth of merchandise from scheels in the southern hills mall. investigators say gant assaulted one of the store's loss prevention officers while trying to get away. a police interview led police to suspect gant's involvement in several other crimes. he's charged with 2nd- degree robbery, two forgery counts, and three counts of vehicle theft. new york state officials are set to meet to determine whether or not they'll temporarily turn the raging waters of niagara falls into just a trickle. at a public hearing later today, officials will discuss plans to replace 115-year old bridges linking the mainland to islands near the brink of the falls. the two concrete arch bridges provide millions of pedestrians with access to goat island each year. replacing the bridges will mean reducing the flow on falls... and redirecting the niagara river to the canadian side. the hearing will be held at the niagara falls convention center. hundreds of iowa business leaders will travel to sioux city in june to attend the iowa association of business and industry's conference. this year marks the 113th annual "taking care of business" conference. it's been a decade since the last conference was held in sioux city. and leaders with the a-b-i organization said they're excited to bring it back to siouxland. more than 500 business executives from around iowa will be in attendence. conference-goers will have the chance to take a tour of downtown, the orpheum theatre, american popcorn company, and other locations. a-b-i president says this is an opportunity to showcase the growth of sioux city. "there's so much energy and so much excitement in sioux city that really led to a resurgence in our group. we wanted to build on that. we knew there was a ton going on in greater siouxland that our folks haven't seen yet. we want to bring all those corporate ceos and business owners back to the region," said mike ralston, president of iowa association of business and industry's (abi). show off what siouxland has to offer, but it will give local companies a chance to connect with iowa executives. (sot: robert costa/ the washington post) "by skipping the debate, trump's the year of the outsider so he may be okay, but some iowans may wonder, why are you quitting?" the democrats are also fighting for an iowa win. hillary clinton's touting years of experience in a new ad: ("courtesy of cnn") super burned in (sot: hillary clinton/ (d) presidential candidate) "i've been on the front lines of change and progress since i was your age." bernie sanders tells voters turnout will make the difference: (sot: bernie sanders/(d) presidential candidate) "if we have a large voter turnout... we will win, and we will win big." he's meeting privately with president obama at the white house today. the white house says that meeting was first discussed in december and there's no formal agenda. i'm tracie potts in washington. >> with the first in the nation caucus just five days away, state political party leaders are making their rounds throughout the state to make sure everything is prepared. there are about 1,700 caucuses state, one in each precinct. candidates continue to campaign throughout iowa to make sure they clinch their parties ticket. and chairs for both the iowa republican and democratic parties say their candidates are going into the caucus strong. "each of us are going to support a candidate of our choosing on caucus night," said dr. cody hoefert, chair of the republican party of iowa. "but at the end of the day we are going to rally and unify and rally around our nominee, cuz we believe it's most important to defeat hillary clinton. "we had a town hall last night in des moines and they are really pushing to the end and they're telling people you're sort of closing the deal," said dr. andy mcguire, chair of the iowa democratic party. "they're telling people why they should vote for them." both party leaders say iowa's standing as the first in the nation caucus is an important one. they say this caucus will be a reflection of that. "i anticipate with the depth of our field that there'll be more tickets out of iowa, i anticipate you can see five, possibly six tickets out of iowa moving forward as candidates gain momentum," said hoefert. "all three of our candidates have said that they think iowa should be first and i think that's very important," said dr. mcguire. we've picked pretty good winners in the past, not always. but i think iowa will remain first in the nation." both party chairs say they are expecting record turnouts this caucus. they will be partnering with microsoft for an application that will help report votes to des moines more quickly. dr. mcguire says there will be a telecaucus for military members overseas and students studying abroad to be able to vote. she says there will also be a satellite caucus for people who can't get time off from work to vote. they're not old enough to vote yet, but students at one sioux city elementary school practiced exercising their future right to vote. ktiv's tiffany lane shows us how they learned the process behind voting. voting booths where they chose one candidate for each party. their votes came after a week of class discussion on candidates...and that's where they decided who they like... "i voted for ted cruz because i think he'd be a great president," said raeleigh cooper, a 4th grader at sunnyside. "hillary clinton has experience with stuff like going to places," said sam clausen, a 3rd grader at sunnyside. and who they don't like... "i really don't think donald trump is going to make it cuz i think he's only there for the fame and the fortune," said jeremiah dean, a 5th grader at sunnyside. su "after the students fill out their voter forms they bring it to this official ballot box given by the county auditor's office, and students say it helps them prepare for the future when they get to vote." "it's really important to think about the children and what they think about politics and to take their voting and what they think into value," said sunnyside 4th grader luke sayonkon. one of the organizers at sunnyside says it was nice to see students vote with open minds. "they don't have those lines so rigid in their mind about things, that they are open and you know easily can adapt and look at things from different perspectives," said elizabeth buster, co-sponsor of sunnyside elementary's student council. but the kids say sometimes politics may not be so friendly. "some of them are nice to each other," said grace stibbs, a 3rd grader at sunnyside elementary school. "he really defends the second amendment and i think he's going to have a great plan for america by defeating isis and getting out of national debt," said mater dei 8th grade student, zach uhl. "i've learned more about what these politicians are trying to do for our country and it helped me learn more about the people i felt i wasn't really going to learn from," said mater dei 8th grade student, howie warren. more than 280 schools participated in the youth straw poll. students voted for donald trump as the republican nomination and bernie sanders took home the democrat side. and it's not just siouxland students getting into the caucus spirit. students at dallas center-grimes high school in grimes, iowa made an iowa caucus video. the students said the musical parody highlights what 2016 presidential candidates are doing to get iowans to caucus for them. to see the full video, head on over to our website and the link governor branstad is proclaiming this national school choice week. it's designed to spotlight education options... like public or private school, charter schools, home schooling, online learning and more. when i think of school choice, i also think of duel credit coarse that let students earn high school and college credits at the same time, whether that's through community colleges or 4-year colleges and universities or advanced placement classes. lieutenant governor kim reynolds shared what the administration is doing now to grow education in iowa. that includes the teacher leadership initiative, making sure all third graders can read, and expanding stem initiatives in the state. governor branstad also talked about his role in making open enrollment and tuition funding more available in iowa. he says having options is good for the state. we think that competition is good, and families having choices in education has led to a better academic achievement and more opportunity and for families and more than 150-events are planned this week in iowa for national school choice week. a norfolk, nebraska school is celebrating some national recognition. westside elementary held an assembly tuesday to celebrate its award as a "national title i distinguished school." westside is one of just two schools in nebraska to receive the honor, which rewards schools for exceptional student performance for two or more consecutive years. from 18-billion- dollars in 2014 to 18-point- four in 2015. if no one in your house has an amazon prime membership, chances are your neighbor does. nearly half of u-s households have a membership. the number of amazon prime memberships in the u-s jumped 35-percent last year, to 54-million. amazon does not disclose the number of prime members it has, but it has previously said it is in the tens of millions. the membership costs 99 dollars a year. it comes with free two-day or overnight shipping on many items, as well as access to amazon streaming videos. jet-blue says it wants its planes to be more spacious, more modern, and more entertaining. the airline says it will be redesigning all 130 of its airbus a-320 airplanes. jet-blue plans to include in- seat power outlets -- turning each seat say it started with a traffic stop, and that finicum and bundy's brother - ryan - refused to surrender. the bundy ranch#claimed on facebook that finicum "had his hands up and was shot 3 times." officials.. haven't commented much beyond saying it's not clear who fired first. ryan bundy suffered minor injuries -- finicum died at the scene. he had been one of the most outspoken members of the armed group... ...that took over the refuge earlier this month to protest federal land policies. "hello america, this is lavoy finicum. we are not going anywhere. we're here to do a job." tuesday's incident ended with ammon and ryan bundy and three followers in federal custody on felony conspiracy charges. three other activists were arrested separately. i'm reid binion, reporting >> two people were killed and three others were injured when a shooting took place at a homeless camp in washington late last night. officers responded to a call of shots fired at a homeless encampment in seattle known as 'the jungle.' one victim was pronounced dead on the scene and four others were taken to a local hospital where a second victim died. officials say they are searching for two people of interest. believes the shooting was not random. seattle's mayor has been under recent pressure to deal with the homeless problem in the city. a fourth teenager involved in a stanton county, nebraska animal cruelty case has admitted his involvement. the teen admitted responsibility for two allegations of animal cruelty. the deptuty stanton county attorney says the teen was involved in the tourture and killing of a cat and an opposum on two separate occasions. the teen was 14 years old at the time. three other teens have admitted their involvement in the case. a member of the stanton county school board has pleaded not guilty to six counts related to the case. kirk van pelt faces two counts of animal cruelty and four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. a sioux city man has pleaded not guilty to stealing from a sporting goods store earlier this month. according to authorities, 21-year-old clinton gant tried to steal 900-dollars worth of merchandise from scheels in the southern hills mall. investigators say gant assaulted one of the store's loss prevention officers while trying to get away. suspect gant's involvement in several other crimes. he's charged with 2nd- degree robbery, two forgery counts, and three counts of vehicle theft. new york state officials are set to meet to determine whether they'll temporarily turn the raging waters of niagara falls into just a trickle. at a public hearing later today, officials will discuss plans to replace 115-year old bridges linking the mainland to islands near the brink of the falls. the two concrete arch bridges provide millions of pedestrians with access to goat island each year. replacing the bridges will mean reducing the flow on the american side of the falls... and redirecting the niagara river to the canadian side. the hearing will be held at the niagara falls convention center. hundreds of iowa business leaders will travel to sioux city in june to attend the iowa association of business and industry's conference. this year marks the 113th annual "taking care of business" conference. it's been a decade since the last conference was held in sioux city. organization said they're excited to bring it back to siouxland. more than 500 business iowa will attend. conference-goers will have the downtown, the orpheum theatre, the american popcorn company, and other locations. a-b-i president says this is an opportunity to showcase the growth of sioux city. "there's so much energy and so much excitement in sioux city that really led to a resurgence in our group. we wanted to build on that. we knew there was a ton going on in greater siouxland that our folks haven't seen yet. we want to bring all those owners back to the region," said mike ralston, president of iowa association of business and industry's (abi). not only will the conference show off what siouxland has to offer, but it will give local companies a chance to connect with iowa executives. health. cookie sheets, and that's ok. so what we started with were some small, red, bite size potatoes, and you need about a pound, which, just for frame of reference, that's about 6 to 8 of the little bite size potatoes. i actually used my produce scale yesterday when i picked these up at the store so i could make sure, cuz i definitely go overboard on the potatoes. if i need a pound, i usually come home with like 3, not knowing how much it is, so that's a good way to make sure you're just getting that pound to feed 4 people if you have more..." s- "or bigger ones you would obviously modify." w- "yeah, so use your food scale for those things, so you can make sure that you're keeping that quarter of your plate to your starchy vegetables so your whole plate's not potatoes. so throw these in the oven at about 400 for 20 minutes, cuz these are going to have to roast for about 40 minutes total, and what's perfect is you can get these started, then make the rest of your dinner, then they all get done at the same time. so throw these in and then get everything else prepped. so, i'm going to show you how to make the honey mustard sauce for your chicken, and this is one of my favorite sauces on chicken. i love it in the summer when we're grilling, but this works really well in the oven too. so, it's just three ingredients. you needome real maple syrup. this one says pure maple syrup, so, no aunt jemama here, you want to real maple syrup. it's not quite as sweet and it's got a richer flavor. i always have this around, but you know, you need about half a cup of this, probably going to be the rest of my jar, a tablespoon of, i think i have dijon mustardrd today. i do. but i've used yellow mustard for this, i've-" s- "just whatever you have." w- "and i like maple syrup because it's not quite as sticky as honey. i just find it easier to work with and the taste when it...in the end, is very similar. but if you have honey in your house, obviously this is honey mustard chicken-" s- "alright we have 30 seconds or less." w- "ok, and then you need just a little bit of citrus juice in here. i have limes on hand, so i'm using limes. you can use orange juice,
