>> i do not know. there is a lot of video online. a lot of it taking it in trying to confirm. explosive was massive it lit up the night sky. looked like obviously a very deliberate strike? russia. >> brian: all right. matt, thank you so much. appreciate it some of the statements that have come out secretary of defense austin wants to see a weakened russia do things invading ukraine. that's interesting subplot. we have seen russia walls much more diminished we ever thought. army much weaker and disorganized than we could ever imagine our intelligence was able to success. they are running out of people and now with longer supply lines for the ukrainians most admit a challenge. even if the russians want to do what they want to do and anthony that's encircle the donbas region that's also 100 miles of supplies. they have not shown the ability to do it. they also are showing an ability to kill civilians, arming, going after that apartment building in odesa, killing another infant. i think it's also interesting they're going out of their way according to the british defense ministry to have a mini, i guess, crimea like acquisition of kherson as you see in that map. even though they have occupied that city and claimed that city, they have been anything but settled. they have constant insurgency. everything is being attacked. they are going to have a ceremony essentially saying you are now part of russia today in kherson. their goal is to say kherson, mykolaiv and odesa. no sign they are able to do it. >> steve: talk more about the lead story and that is the ukrainians have struck the russians at two different oil-or at an oil facility and a military facility. fox news contributor, retired u.s. retired bomb tech joey jones, you saw him on the channel a few minutes ago. what do you make of the facts that now we have seen this once before, now now apparently ukraine is targeting russia, they are targeting the oil depot that russia is using to fuel their tanks in the donbas region. but, at the same time, that facility is one of the main pipelines of oil from russia to europe. so that's one way to cuts off their supply. >> joey: quite a strategic strike there. i was hosting the big saturday show when i was asked griff jenkins who is in ukraine when john kirby stands at the pentagon and says we are be very specific on the time of weapons we are sending based on the situation, the question i have and i haven't heard answered is that because ukraine military is trying to defend places like their capital, trying to defend russian advancement or is that not now because they are going to be the attach and take back the donbas? we haven't had the answer. i understand there may be a reason why they don't want to broadcast they being ukraine or the pentagon. that's reading the tea leaves here with looking at here. ukraine military in a place of strength where they can attack back or simply trying to hold what they have been age to hold and support that defensive position? maybe both things are happening. those are the questions to be asked. if russia is trying to, you know, keep a win of winning the donbas and strengthening their hold along the coast, is ukraine in a position to fight to take it back. >> ainsley: joey, interesting to watch this fight. it was supposed to last two days. they have failed in kyiv, the russian forces. now they are moving to the con bass region. how significant is this? does this mean putin has said i can't now take the areas of ukraine i wanted to the west? i'm going to focus now just on the donbas and call it a day? >> certainly seems that way. certainly seems like the russian shifted but leadership for the russian military has changed which may be a reason for the change in overall direction and strategy. you know, one thing i will say a is that supposed to last two days now it's lasting months. that might be good news for the ukrainian military. it's bad news for the ukrainian people. the long they're lasts the more atrocity they are seeing and exposed and our prayers are with those people who may not be fighting a war but simply trying to live through it. >> brian: there are intelligence reports say that putin, that we believe that putin thinks he is winning. and that means that he is going to double and triple down. >> what channel is he watching? >> brian: hard to believe he considers kyiv a win. but they also worry if he is not able to have success in the donbas area, that is the greatest chance of tactical nukes. you can't live your life in fear of them losing but that's what the intelligence community worries about. >> there has been a little bit of me the tail wagging the dog. the biden administration's response to this. i keep saying and not going to stop saying the critique is i'm providing nine months ago a year ago. as we look at china we need to have that vision. i worry that the biden administration get completely caught off guard here or did they just not think it was a game worth playing. a war they could win if they helped ukraine too much early on. what i will say if putin thinks he is winning, if that's true, that means this was a part of the strategy perhaps from the beginning and that concerns me because they certainly have the 8 years experience in the donbas as far as providing support for troops there fighting compared to, you know, what was happening on the more western part of the country they are on. >> brian: that was according to david sanger the "new york times" talking to people. >> steve: one of the incorporate things lloyd austin our 70s secretary said when he was over there yesterday. and they announced another boott load of stuff for the ukrainians. they wanted to make sure that the material that the united states is falling does not fall into enemy hands which, when you think about that that almost suggests rather than giving them them third generation stuff. they might be getting some of the first generation stuff that we are currently, we are deploying around the world. our secret stuff. and we don't want the ruchings to get a copy of it and reverse engineering it. >> no we certainly hope our own military understands that first generation brand new stuff probably getting better stuff our marine corps has. i will tell you that as a marine. there have been reports of russians in donbas with our weapons in hand. that's question that needs to be asked. no matter what we send, can it get to the place it needs to be and the hands it needs to be in there is not enough information on that. >> brian: not enough on poland to say bring it into the country. >> doing it this late in the game to begin with. >> brian: especially after we left all that hardware in afghanistan. >> ainsley: i think it's interesting too we are giving $165 million of non-american made sits in their weapons because they have different wednesday than we have. joey, thank you so much. great job on "fox & friends first" with carley. >> joey: thank you so much. >> ainsley: new york city mayor cracking down on crime. even those arrested by new anti-gun units being released just hours after they're arrested. the revolver door of justice taking a bite out of the big apple. >> brian: great time to live in new york. ross chastain takes the checkered flag. has interesting. wouldn't you agree? >> i think it is a good thing, because elon musk is an absolute flag bearer for free speech. he talks about this woke mind-set virus. i think he is right. it is a virus. to go around wanting to destroy everything that gets in your way that you don't agree with. you become a really dangerous thing in the society. elon musk wants to return free speech. i think he recognizes that it's completely ridiculous for example that donald trump -- i discussed this in the interview. he is banned from twitter and yet, people who still have accounts include vladimir putin, the supreme leader of iran, and taliban leaders. how can that be right? how can they be justified? social media platform allows them accounts but bans donald trump. i think you will see if elon musk takes control, i think you'll see a much more tolerant view of all manner of people's right to free speech, not just on the left but also on the right who tend to be the only people that get no platformed by twitter and facebook. >> steve: you just described essentially elon musk would be following your lead on your show on fox nation. you will be uncancelling people. if elon musk takes over, he will uncancel who have been canceled by twitter. >> i was uncancel donald trump from twitter and make the point i just made. you can't allow vladimir putin an account in the next president of the united states. it's completely nuts. it's clearly politically motivated. i also discussed with him this outrageous situation we had with "the new york post" just before the election about hunter biden's laptop. i said to him, it seems to be completely outrageous that twitter censored that story that mainstream media joined in and said it was russian disinformation. now the very same mainstream media are saying, actually, it was all true. legitimate story. why did you investigate at the time? i made the point to donald trump, although i completely disagree that he had the election stolen illegally by voter fraud, because he hasn't produced to my mind the evidence actually, he'd have a much better argument if he said, you know what? the suppression of that story of hunter biden's laptop could have tipped election my way. i think that's a really valid point which we can all agree with. again, i come back to elon musk. is he likely to allow twitter if he controls it to literally sensor a true story, i don't think he will. >> brian: you are well rested. now you are doing a morning show, your so shot out of a cannon. this is what it will be like if we did a morning show i got eight hours of sleep. >> i feel your pain. people have no idea. the time you guys get out of bed, how hard it is to be high energy early in the morning. i am living proof to all three of you. there's life after a morning show and its life where you don't look half dead. you got energy. >> look at you. >> taking -- we look half dead? you started out these updates by saying you have never been through this before and you have been through everything. >> it really was very dramatic when i got the call that i will be traveling with the secretary of state on this supersecret very highly secure mansion over with him and the defense secretary. we flew over to an undisclosed location. we were taken to a hanger. we slept on the cots. we were put into a total news blackout along ukrainian border. in the principal secretary of state blinking and defense secretary alston, they took a long train ride into kyiv and met with president zelenskyy. president zelenskyy let the cat out of the bag and set on saturday he was going to meet that to. not because some security concerns. when they came back, we did a press conference this morning at about 2:00 a.m. eastern time. that is where we are to them about what they had discussed. they spent about three hours with president zelenskyy as you mentioned. there had been that oil fire in behind enemy lines inside russia mysterious explosions at those oil depots. just ahead of those meetings, there were reports that that was ukrainian fire that caused those oil fires. what we talked to secretary of state blinken about, his biggest announcement and what he told zelenskyy is that the u.s. would be reopening their embassy in kyiv in the capital in the coming weeks and that u.s. embassy officials would return in the coming days and that there would be a new u.s. ambassador. secretary austin talk about how he had authorized creating five battalions of ukrainian trained artillerymen who could use these new howitzers. we saw so much weaponry being packaged up and sent into ukraine. it was really stunning to see this thing is, that javelins come about howitzers, the 155-millimeter shells. this was in operation around the clock. there were 8-10 weapons shipments a day landing and then being off-loaded immediately. they are not being warehoused. they are being taken straight into ukraine. what we also learned is that 50 ukrainian artillerymen have just finished a six-day training at an undisclosed location in europe. another 50 will start at six-day training. they will be trained on those howitzers which are moving forward. it could be game changers. >> brian: we get this equipment to poland or wherever we can get it to. and then it is up to the ukrainians to get their weapons and all the equipment to the right people at the right time. is that enough? do you think the u.s. should be doing more to make sure it gets to the people who need it most? >> absolutely. what we have reported on and on my prior trip just over ten days i go into ukraine, it is very clear to me that the logistical system on the ground is not good enough. it is an old soviet system that the ministry of defense, the ukrainian ministry of defense is using. i was very specialized weapons, this thing years, that javelins, i asked secretary austin today, these weapons could bring down civilian airliners if they fall into the wrong hands. we have seen photos of some of those weapons falling into russian backed rebels hands. they need a method to track those sophisticated weapons. they also need to get this investigated weapons to the front line trained troops. not every trip knows how to use as staying here. not every troop knows how to use a howitzer. they have to marry that up and they need a little help with that logistics. that is something the u.s. could be helping her with. >> brian: great job. i will talk to on radio and a little while. let's turn to somebody was no stranger to combat. former secretary of the interior. your thoughts on where we are at right now. are you happy with the pace in which we are supplying? how would you describe how the wars going from the ukrainian perspective? >> another series of failure, quite frankly. we took military action off the table immediately. i have fought with the russians in kosovo. i've known the russians very well. to negotiate with the russians on any level, new you negotiate from strength to not weakness. you don't put anything on the table. you certainly don't put troops on the ground. you don't take them off the table immediately. we were slow. this administration almost looks everything through a globalist and global warming perspective, that 2 lenses they look at. without the u.s., there is no nato. nato is a fine idea, but we have the capability. when we don't have a set of deterrence that russia will stand and then look at it, we are in trouble. i think we continue to give tactics, techniques, and procedures. i think our policy overseas as we fight for freedom and freedom is in peril, it's a great reagan policy in ukraine, what we are seeing is an enormous amount of patriotism and fighting and grit. >> the fighters and the russians. >> the russians. the russians don't have the capability we thought they did conventionally. their tanks are magnificent. it has a 125 reactive armor. they have lost hundreds of tanks. it has been logistics. we watch fuel. we watch training. her ability to project power in a conventional way now isn't quite what we thought. you are seeing a projection of power by a nuclear. we are seeing nuclear tests. i think what we need to do is have a strategy. what is our in-state in ukraine? thus far we've seen a strategy more reactive than proactive. people are dying. putin is the face of evil. there is no doubt when he first invaded, it was indiscriminate fire. now he is using artillery just a crush and a pound. you have seen the pictures -- this is not -- this is eastern europe. it opens up scars that we have not seen since world war ii. >> brian: i know you are running for congress now, an open seat in montana. people want to support your candidacy, where do they go? >> i can tell you this. leadership matters. there is a fear of uncertainty doubt across the country whether america's best time is behind us. america is not weak. we are far from weak beer we have the strongest military on the pace of the planet. we have the resources in this country. the leadership is weak and what america is not and there's a big difference. >> brian: maybe europe can start defending themselves know that they are motivated and we can start focusing on china. i look forward to seeing how you're going to do. it's always great seeing you. behind mount rushmore t-shirt. >> come out to glacier park. >> brian: if i can find a reason to do it for work, i will do it. >> we can make that happen. >> brian: best of luck. visitor logs revealed a vice president joe biden met with this as a business partner at the white house. isn't that nice? >> between 2009 and 2015. >> that is a level access that senior government officials don't even have. [shouting] >> ross chase stain. ross is the boss in talladega you 6:18 in overnight depot had reportedly been struck by ukrainian missiles. >> brian: strike follows meetings between secretary of state blinken and zelenskyy in kyiv yesterday. >> ainsley: matt finn has the latest from lviv, good morning, matt. >> good morning. and here in ukraine there are a lot of reported missile strikes and attacks on the western and central part of this country, including right here in the lviv region. we have heard the air raid sirens going off all morning. ukraine's national railway is now saying that five train stations came under fire this morning with unconfirmed reports of casualties. and this is all happening as the u.s. secretary of state and defense just used trains to visit ukraine. and a short while ago the lviv governor said missile attack train station outside of lviv to the east. that state governor staying within the past 24 hours here in lviv the air defense shot down a russian missile that he says came from a plane and also a threat of a russian missile coming from the caspian sea in russia authorities confirm massive fire at oil storage can city in the city of bree osceola, not far from the canadian border russia accused ukraine of bombing several buildings in that area. all comes after secretary we don't know how the rest of the war will unfold we do know that a sovereign independent ukraine will be around a lot longer than vladimir putin is on the scene. our support for ukraine going forward will continue. it will continue until we see final success. >> and a short while ago, ukrainian president zelenskyy posted the social media u.s. delegation of high officials to kyiv as quote very valuable and important. and is he grateful to the united states of america for, quote: unprecedented help. and the secretary of state says american diplomats will begin returning here to ukraine next week and our u.s. embassy in kyiv will eventually reopen back to you guys. >> steve: matt, in listening to what you just said about how the russians apparently have targeted the five train stations, is it just a coincidence that austin and blinken traveled on them yesterday because they haven't really struck at the rail infrastructure in the last month or so. >> well, the time something obviously suspect. and it was actually just last monday here in lviv that there was a missile strike here. one of the missiles that we reported on landed just feet away from a railway and also a railway switch. and our crew and a lot of people here were wondering if they were in fact targeting that railway. certainly questionable, steve. >> ainsley: matt, what do you know about the fires burning in russia 2:00 a.m. ukrainian missiles hit that oil depot. 15 minutes later they hit a military facility. so they are using these missiles are these missiles coming from the u.s. or one of the 30 countries engaged in the fight? >> i do not know. there is a lot of video online. a lot of it taking it in trying to confirm. explosive was massive it lit up the night sky. looked like obviously a very deliberate strike? russia. >> brian: all right. matt, thank you so much. appreciate it some of the statements that have come out secretary of defense austin wants to see a weakened russia do things invading ukraine. that's interesting subplot. we have seen russia walls much more diminished we ever thought. army much weaker and disorganized than we could ever imagine our intelligence was able to success. they are running out of people and now with longer supply lines for the ukrainians most admit a challenge. even if the russians want to do what they want to do and anthony that's encircle the donbas region that's also 100 miles of supplies. they have not shown the ability to do it. they also are showing an ability to kill civilians, arming, going after that apartment building in odesa, killing another infant. i think it's also interesting they're going out of their way according to the british defense ministry to have a mini, i guess, crimea like acquisition of kherson as you see in that map. even though they have occupied that city and claimed that city, they have been anything but settled. they have constant insurgency. everything is being attacked. they are going to have a ceremony essentially saying you are now part of russia today in kherson. their goal is to say kherson, mykolaiv and odesa. no sign they are able to do it. >> steve: talk more about the lead story and that is the ukrainians have struck the russians at two different oil-or at an oil facility and a military facility. fox news contributor, retired u.s. retired bomb tech joey jones, you saw him on the channel a few minutes ago. what do you make of the facts that now we have seen this once before, now now apparently ukraine is targeting russia, they are targeting the oil depot that russia is using to fuel their tanks in the donbas region. but, at the same time, that facility is one of the main pipelines of oil from russia to europe. so that's one way to cuts off their supply. >> joey: quite a strategic strike there. i was hosting the big saturday show when i was asked griff jenkins who is in ukraine when john kirby stands at the pentagon and says we are be very specific on the time of weapons we are sending based on the situation, the question i have and i haven't heard answered is that because ukraine military is trying to defend places like their capital, trying to defend russian advancement or is that not now because they are going to be the attach and take back the donbas? we haven't had the answer. i understand there may be a reason why they don't want to broadcast they being ukraine or the pentagon. that's reading the tea leaves here with looking at here. ukraine military in a place of strength where they can attack back or simply trying to hold what they have been age to hold and support that defensive position? maybe both things are happening. those are the questions to be asked. if russia is trying to, you know, keep a win of winning the donbas and strengthening their hold along the coast, is ukraine in a position to fight to take it back. >> ainsley: joey, interesting to watch this fight. it was supposed to last two days. they have failed in kyiv, the russian forces. now they are moving to the con bass region. how significant is this? does this mean putin has said i can't now take the areas of ukraine i wanted to the west? i'm going to focus now just on the donbas and call it a day? >> certainly seems that way. certainly seems like the russian shifted but leadership for the russian military has changed which may be a reason for the change in overall direction and strategy. you know, one thing i will say a is that supposed to last two days now it's lasting months. that might be good news for the ukrainian military. it's bad news for the ukrainian people. the long they're lasts the more atrocity they are seeing and exposed and our prayers are with those people who may not be fighting a war but simply trying to live through it. >> brian: there are intelligence reports say that putin, that we believe that putin thinks he is winning. and that means that he is going to double and triple down. >> what channel is he watching? >> brian: hard to believe he considers kyiv a win. but they also worry if he is not able to have success in the donbas area, that is the greatest chance of tactical nukes. you can't live your life in fear of them losing but that's what the intelligence community worries about. >> there has been a little bit of me the tail wagging the dog. the biden administration's response to this. i keep saying and not going to stop saying the critique is i'm providing nine months ago a year ago. as we look at china we need to have that vision. i worry that the biden administration get completely caught off guard here or did they just not think it was a game worth playing. a war they could win if they helped ukraine too much early on. what i will say if putin thinks he is winning, if that's true, that means this was a part of the strategy perhaps from the beginning and that concerns me because they certainly have the 8 years experience in the donbas as far as providing support for troops there fighting compared to, you know, what was happening on the more western part of the country they are on. >> brian: that was according to david sanger the "new york times" talking to people. >> steve: one of the incorporate things lloyd austin our 70s secretary said when he was over there yesterday. and they announced another boott load of stuff for the ukrainians. they wanted to make sure that the material that the united states is falling does not fall into enemy hands which, when you think about that that almost suggests rather than giving them them third generation stuff. they might be getting some of the first generation stuff that we are currently, we are deploying around the world. our secret stuff. and we don't want the ruchings to get a copy of it and reverse engineering it. >> no we certainly hope our own military understands that first generation brand new stuff probably getting better stuff our marine corps has. i will tell you that as a marine. there have been reports of russians in donbas with our weapons in hand. that's question that needs to be asked. no matter what we send, can it get to the place it needs to be and the hands it needs to be in there is not enough information on that. >> brian: not enough on poland to say bring it into the country. >> doing it this late in the game to begin with. >> brian: especially after we left all that hardware in afghanistan. >> ainsley: i think it's interesting too we are giving $165 million of non-american made sits in their weapons because they have different wednesday than we have. joey, thank you so much. great job on "fox & friends first" with carley. >> joey: thank you so much. >> ainsley: new york city mayor cracking down on crime. even those arrested by new anti-gun units being released just hours after they're arrested. the revolver door of justice taking a bite out of the big apple. >> brian: great time to live in new york. ross chastain takes the checkered flag. has interesting. wouldn't you agree? ukraine's national railway is now reporting that five train stations here came under attack this morning with unconfirmed reports of casualties. this is all happening after the u.s. secretary of state and secretary of defense used two visit this country. the state governor here said there was a missile attack near a train station just outside of lviv to the east. the state governor saying within the past 24 hours here in the lviv region, the air defense systems jot down a russian missile that he says came from a plane. there was a threat of a russian missile coming from the caspian sea. meanwhile in russia, authorities confirm a massive fire at an oil storage facility in the city. not far from the ukrainian border. there's no confirmation of what caused that fire. last week russia accused ukraine of bombing several other buildings in that area. this is all happening just hours after u.s. secretary of state antony blinken and secretary of defense lloyd austin left ukraine. they met with president zelenskyy and members of his cabinet in kyiv. >> we don't know how the rest of this war will unfold. but we do know that a sovereign independent ukraine will be around a lot longer the u.s. delegation of high officials to kyiv is very valuable. he is grateful to the united states of america for "unprecedented help." also right now, rest is claiming it will halt its attack on the massive steel plan to allow civilians to leave. for months, women and children have been hiding out in tunnels under ground there as russia bombed the city. some people say they are running out of were up there there's no coordination and no experience there where their equipment has been rusted out. it has not been maintained. the morale has been terrible. when the secretary of defense comes out and says he wants the russians to be weakened to the degree, he can do the things he's done an invading ukraine, that i could be problematic. that would help unite the russian people who say they are going after us. they want to destroy us because the president vladimir putin is constantly saying, this is about ukraine. this is about nato versus us. nato is the one who blew up our worship sorry. i think it is delusional. i think it is also -- covering over the tracks, isn't it? we can all see what is happening. america has a situation right now where many millions of people are really feeling the pinch now from rising prices from surging inflation particularly of the gas and so on. you can say you like that things are going well. when people are experiencing in real time the pain of what is happening and they can't even see their kids in some cases with lines increasing, this kind of stuff i'm afraid it's going to pour oil all over the fire which at the moment is raging at the white house about the way they are running the country. >> steve: you are multidimensional multimedia person. i read your column about what led to the episode with donald trump. did you say all these things about me? they were accurate. someone gave him a bunch of quotes of things you said about him. you said, after trying to save this interview. i have a crew outside. my first episode. i want to play this clip -- before we play this clip, can i just get your take on how you were able to get the interview and call him the president down? >> i have known donald trump a very long time. i've interviewed him maybe 35 or 40 times. i know it is like to interview him. as a columnist, i work and i had written 120 columns when he was president. about half of them were supportive when many other people were not supporting them. have to wear critical when i thought he deserved outback. i think that is the kind of person he thought he was choosing. someone who calls it as he sees it. i had an amazing interview by the way. it turned out to be 75 minutes. incredibly wide-ranging. the first two nights of my show, and i think when people watch it, they will all calm down including donald trump. although we get heated about certain points in particular, his refusal to accept the results of the last election and what subsequently happened on january the 6th. there are many areas where i agree with him. not least the way they would have dealt with vladimir putin in ukraine. i do think that all those who rushed in on the back of what i thought was a fantastic promo trailer for this interview seem to have gotten the entire world knowing which by the way it is the point of the trailer. when i was on the apprentice, donald trump did that to me every night. i wanted to get everyone to watch it. when you watch it in totality, i think everyone can calm down. it's a really interesting interview with a man who let's be honest right now if he decides to run again may well win back the republican nomination and could well be president again which will be the first time that is ever happened. a unique person in the american public right now. i had a fantastic time with the interview. >> ainsley: what did he say about meghan markle? >> he said he was not a fan of meghan markle. he didn't like the way she disrespected the monarchy. he really tore into prince harry. he said it was terrible that he did not attend the memorial while he had gone to the super bowl and texas rodeo and popped over to holland to go to the netherlands to put on their game. but could not find the time to go to a memorial service for his grandfather pretty thought that was terrible. very supportive and trump is a big clean fan. he said how much he enjoyed meeting that claim. he said that -- she called him -- he probably does like the band. he said that harry is the most equipped man in the world. i think we all know what he meant by that. he also said i am a great predictor. he think he's a great predictor. he thinks he's nostradamus. he said on the great predictor. i predict this marriage is going to end back. harry will be returning to england with his tail between his legs begging for forgiveness. it's a very, very, as you would imagine, very full on trump interview. those clips back in the u.k. have played out very well with the british public. almost all of whom agree with it. >> brian: i can tell you like doing a talk show. >> do you mean i like to talk? >> steve: yes, you do. saved by their word. >> you can't get enough of my british accent. come on. >> steve: we have all seen the trump promo that the former president took exception to. for a taste of what piers morgan uncensored is going to be like in the future with people like sharon osbourne who you have known in the past, take a look at this promo. >> piers and i have both been through similar experiences. piers spoke about megan. and i spoke about the way i feel. piers speech -- after all the big who ha all the mass online, i am back. to talk to piers morgan about what really happened. what people can expect from me is the truth. >> steve: that is what people want. >> people want the inside story. >> what i thought about that was i got kicked out of my morning show in the u.k. because meghan markle wrote to the company demanding my head on a plate disbelieving that. having the audacity to disbelieve someone whose nickname is prince as pinocchio. if you remember what happened to sharon osborne, she was hosting "the talk." she was fired for basically saying i had a right to an opinion. she didn't even say that she agreed with that. i thought that was an egregious censorship of her right to freedom of speech. i have on canceled sharon. she is back on his show in the u.k. now called "the talk." at the end of the interview, very moving and very shocking about the way that she got treated. at death threats and called a racist and all that stuff. there was no evidence for any of that. at the end of it, i actually formally on canceled here. that is going to be the spirit of my show. >> steve: how do you do that? >> i literally had in front of me, i said sharon osborne, you are uncanceled. about to host a brand-new show called "let's talk." i have uncanceled her. if there's in, anyone who has been unfairly canceled, i am here to save you. i am in a british knight shining armor on a big white horse know and i will save you and to you three as well, should anything happen in your careers, i'm there for you. >> steve: you've got the media calling every day. to elon musk, it looks like there is some relatively breaking news. it was like a week ago it looked to elon musk is on the cost of getting twitter at $54.20 per share. he was able to get further investors. this could be a done deal. if it is in fact a done deal like it looks it's going to be, what are the ramifications of this? >> i think it is a good thing, because elon musk is an absolute flag bearer for free speech. he talks about this woke mind-set virus. i think he is right. it is a virus. to go around wanting to destroy everything that gets in your way that you don't agree with. you become a really dangerous thing in the society. elon musk wants to return free speech. i think he recognizes that it's completely ridiculous for example that donald trump -- i discussed this in the interview. he is banned from twitter and yet, people who still have accounts include vladimir putin, the supreme leader of iran, and taliban leaders. how can that be right? how can they be justified? social media platform allows them accounts but bans donald trump. i think you will see if elon musk takes control, i think you'll see a much more tolerant view of all manner of people's right to free speech, not just on the left but also on the right who tend to be the only people that get no platformed by twitter and facebook. >> steve: you just described essentially elon musk would be following your lead on your show on fox nation. you will be uncancelling people. if elon musk takes over, he will uncancel who have been canceled by twitter. >> i was uncancel donald trump from twitter and make the point i just made. you can't allow vladimir putin an account in the next president of the united states. it's completely nuts. it's clearly politically motivated. i also discussed with him this outrageous situation we had with "the new york post" just before the election about hunter biden's laptop. i said to him, it seems to be completely outrageous that twitter censored that story that mainstream media joined in and said it was russian disinformation. now the very same mainstream media are saying, actually, it was all true. legitimate story. why did you investigate at the time? i made the point to donald trump, although i completely disagree that he had the election stolen illegally by voter fraud, because he hasn't produced to my mind the evidence actually, he'd have a much better argument if he said, you know what? the suppression of that story of hunter biden's laptop could have tipped election my way. i think that's a really valid point which we can all agree with. again, i come back to elon musk. is he likely to allow twitter if he controls it to literally sensor a true story, i don't think he will. >> brian: you are well rested. now you are doing a morning show, your so shot out of a cannon. this is what it will be like if we did a morning show i got eight hours of sleep. >> i feel your pain. people have no idea. the time you guys get out of bed, how hard it is to be high energy early in the morning. i am living proof to all three of you. there's life after a morning show and its life where you don't look half dead. you got energy. >> look at you. >> taking -- we look half dead? [laughter] >> brian: we could have taken a shower. he's so fired up. >> ainsley: he probably got in trouble at school were talking too much. now you get paid to do it. you are doing a great job. >> asked legally used to be thrown out of my local pub in my village. forgetting too noisy in the pub and arguing too loudly. can you believe that? >> brian: yes, 100%. i saw it with the bartender who tossed you. check them out on fox nation. >> steve: "piers morgan uncensored" premieres today. have a great afternoon and evening there in london. >> always a pleasure, guys. >> ainsley: ryan is going to join us live. ukraine strike overnight on russia reportedly set the russian oil depot up in flames. >> brian: plus, a democrat running for congress wants to raise the minimum wage on the next fantasy next. i look back with great satisfaction on my 32 years of active duty. i understand the veteran mentality. these are people who have served, they'e been in leadership positions, they're willing to put their life on the line if necessary and they come to us and they say, "i need some financial help at this point in time." they're not looking for a hand out, they're looking for a little hand up. my team at newday usa is going to do everything we possibly can to make sure that veteran gets that loan. >> brian: back with the fox news alert. look at this. and oil depot in russia. it is reportedly the work of ukrainian sneak attack. this possible strike follows meetings between defense secretary lloyd austin and president zelenskyy and kyiv. traveling with those top u.s. officials in joins us live from germany. an affair, what is the latest? you started out these updates by saying you have never been through this before and you have been through everything. >> it really was very dramatic when i got the call that i will be traveling with the secretary of state on this supersecret very highly secure mansion over with him and the defense secretary. we flew over to an undisclosed location. we were taken to a hanger. we slept on the cots. we were put into a total news blackout along ukrainian border. in the principal secretary of state blinking and defense secretary alston, they took a long train ride into kyiv and met with president zelenskyy. president zelenskyy let the cat out of the bag and set on saturday he was going to meet that to. not because some security concerns. when they came back, we did a press conference this morning at about 2:00 a.m. eastern time. that is where we are to them about what they had discussed. they spent about three hours with president zelenskyy as you mentioned. there had been that oil fire in behind enemy lines inside russia mysterious explosions at those oil depots. just ahead of those meetings, there were reports that that was ukrainian fire that caused those oil fires. what we talked to secretary of state blinken about, his biggest announcement and what he told zelenskyy is that the u.s. would be reopening their embassy in kyiv in the capital in the coming weeks and that u.s. embassy officials would return in the coming days and that there would be a new u.s. ambassador. secretary austin talk about how he had authorized creating five battalions of ukrainian trained artillerymen who could use these new howitzers. we saw so much weaponry being packaged up and sent into ukraine. it was really stunning to see this thing is, that javelins come about howitzers, the 155-millimeter shells. this was in operation around the clock. there were 8-10 weapons shipments a day landing and then being off-loaded immediately. they are not being warehoused. they are being taken straight into ukraine. what we also learned is that 50 ukrainian artillerymen have just finished a six-day training at an undisclosed location in europe. another 50 will start at six-day training. they will be trained on those howitzers which are moving forward. it could be game changers. >> brian: we get this equipment to poland or wherever we can get it to. and then it is up to the ukrainians to get their weapons and all the equipment to the right people at the right time. is that enough? do you think the u.s. should be doing more to make sure it gets to the people who need it most? >> absolutely. what we have reported on and on my prior trip just over ten days i go into ukraine, it is very clear to me that the logistical system on the ground is not good enough. it is an old soviet system that the ministry of defense, the ukrainian ministry of defense is using. i was very specialized weapons, this thing years, that javelins, i asked secretary austin today, these weapons could bring down civilian airliners if they fall into the wrong hands. we have seen photos of some of those weapons falling into russian backed rebels hands. they need a method to track those sophisticated weapons. they also need to get this investigated weapons to the front line trained troops. not every trip knows how to use as staying here. not every troop knows how to use a howitzer. they have to marry that up and they need a little help with that logistics. that is something the u.s. could be helping her with. >> brian: great job. i will talk to on radio and a little while. let's turn to somebody was no stranger to combat. former secretary of the interior. your thoughts on where we are at right now. are you happy with the pace in which we are supplying? how would you describe how the wars going from the ukrainian perspective? >> another series of failure, quite frankly. we took military action off the table immediately. i have fought with the russians in kosovo. i've known the russians very well. to negotiate with the russians on any level, new you negotiate from strength to not weakness. you don't put anything on the table. you certainly don't put troops on the ground. you don't take them off the table immediately. we were slow. this administration almost looks everything through a globalist and global warming perspective, that 2 lenses they look at. without the u.s., there is no nato. nato is a fine idea, but we have the capability. when we don't have a set of deterrence that russia will stand and then look at it, we are in trouble. i think we continue to give tactics, techniques, and procedures. i think our policy overseas as we fight for freedom and freedom is in peril, it's a great reagan policy in ukraine, what we are seeing is an enormous amount of patriotism and fighting and grit. >> the fighters and the russians. >> the russians. the russians don't have the capability we thought they did conventionally. their tanks are magnificent. it has a 125 reactive armor. they have lost hundreds of tanks. it has been logistics. we watch fuel. we watch training. her ability to project power in a conventional way now isn't quite what we thought. you are seeing a projection of power by a nuclear. we are seeing nuclear tests. i think what we need to do is have a strategy. what is our in-state in ukraine? thus far we've seen a strategy more reactive than proactive. people are dying. putin is the face of evil. there is no doubt when he first invaded, it was indiscriminate fire. now he is using artillery just a crush and a pound. you have seen the pictures -- this is not -- this is eastern europe. it opens up scars that we have not seen since world war ii. >> brian: i know you are running for congress now, an open seat in montana. people want to support your candidacy, where do they go? >> i can tell you this. leadership matters. there is a fear of uncertainty doubt across the country whether america's best time is behind us. america is not weak. we are far from weak beer we have the strongest military on the pace of the planet. we have the resources in this country. the leadership is weak and what america is not and there's a big difference. >> brian: maybe europe can start defending themselves know that they are motivated and we can start focusing on china. i look forward to seeing how you're going to do. it's always great seeing you. behind mount rushmore t-shirt. >> come out to glacier park. >> brian: if i can find a reason to do it for work, i will do it. >> we can make that happen. >> brian: best of luck. visitor logs revealed a vice president joe biden met with this as a business partner at the white house. isn't that nice? you step in and say there is a living wage. it's done. there is the cost of gas. it is done. do you say it's going to take longer, but we are going to put policies in place that we believe are ultimately going to let the market control much happening. it's going to be messy, but in the end, not as messy as this. >> steve: speaking of messy, and season 2 of fox business news prime cakes often night. how america works with mike rowe. you are actually on camera. and it does get messy from time to time. here is some sweepers after a parade, wilmington, delaware. let's take a look at it. dog sweeping. >> bango. >> whenever she sat down there, that is her alert that she found something. >> good girl, good girl. >> and with that, matt and marion are ready to sweep the parade grounds. in this line of work, plans do change fast. >> we just got a call that we have to go to. >> it looks like that parade suite. we will have to wait until more urgent matters are attended to. >> more urgent matters. you think about all the jobs in america. we look at some unsung heroes and obviously, you know, you go to the parade grounds. you think it is safe. it's people like that in dogs like that that make that happen. >> the first episode of season o cops. i will say it exactly what it is. each episode we focus on a new industry. where an old industry and give you an honest look at what it takes to make that work. we wanted to start this season off with a look at law enforcement. we go to wilmington, delaware, and we spend a couple of days in the lives of the police force there. and it is not like other shows. we sometimes it is exciting. sometimes it is dangerous. sometimes you are sweeping up parade ground. i don't have to tell you, steve, it has been a very difficult time to be a cop for the last four or five years. we have wanted to do a show that shines in honest light on the men and women of a typical police force in america who do what they do day in and day out. these men and women in wilmington are extraordinary. the dogs are extraordinary. i think folks are going to love it. >> steve: and kicks off tonight at 8:00 p.m. you can catch can catch "how america works with mike rowe" tonight over on fox business. you can finish that cup of coffee now. >> i think i will. thank you, steve. >> steve: don't go anywhere. ross chastain joins us live from victory lane. he's going to discuss that thrilling last lap pass where he won. and this celebration and then everybody is talking about involving a melon. first, let's check in with bill hemmer and dana perino. >> that is one way of doing it. >> one big melon. >> he apparently has been driving around with that in the backseat for a while. >> good morning to you, steve on monday. the u.s. tries to pressure vladimir putin. >> who is visiting the white house when joe biden was vp? >> i will be honest. our driver brings it. it's got a special foam carrying case. he brought it out. probably a half mile from the in the the garage is and where i blew the rear tires off the car. he brought it all away out there. i was able to smash it. my family, my brother chad and i are eighth generation watermelon farmers back to my dad and eight generations before us. my goal was to use this platform of nascar to promote watermelons. >> steve: job well done. >> i never knew how but i wanted to promote our family livelihood. i'm selfish. i wanted to put food on our table, i wanted to show the world and use this platform to do that. now, you know, there is no better way then that friend at talladega. >> steve: set the scene for us. >> yeah, i mean, you just don't know how they are going to go. i was fully content to push kyle larson, the teammate and when he turned right, i was, like, okay, i was pushing a buddy of mine. i'm going to push the 43 card to the win. it crossed my mind. he turned right to block kyle. okay, i crossed the line. i really had no -- i could not comprehend that we won. i asked them, did we win? i team is celebrating i'm going on the backstretch. i never even slowed down. i was wide open. it was a serial moment. it's a culmination of tri- cows in the team that i drive for. we put ourselves in position to win. we have chances to win 4 or 5 races this year. we have won our. >> ainsley: how do you feel now? what are the last few hours been like for you? >> i will be honest. my head hurts right now. we celebrated. the one team got together last night. these things are so hard to win. although, you know, from the outside and even from the inside, everything is going right, right now. an incredible run. we are fast. we are finishing where we think we should. but, yeah, we celebrated last night. there is watermelon smashed here. i'm sure there's watermelon smashed back home. >> steve: i bet you're right. >> brian: he races to sell watermelons. not many people can say that. >> steve: congratulations, ross chastain wins because he showed them how to shake and bake. congratulations. >> ainsley: congratulations. >> thank you. >> ainsley: you're welcome. thanks for coming out with us. have a great day, everyone. we will see you >> u.s. believes ukraine will win and committed to helping them do so. i'm bill hemmer. hope you had a terrific weekend. >> dana: i'm dana perino. this is "america's newsroom." that show of solidarity coming from defense secretary lloyd austin and secretary antony blinken. they went to kyiv yesterday. the most senior u.s. officials since russia invaded 61 days ago. >> bill: the u.s. delegation held a three-hour meeting with
